Rapper Cardi B accused a New York police officer of putting her in a chokehold.
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper, who is dating Migos rapper Offset (pictured above), made the dramatic claim on Twitter.com Tuesday evening.
Although the post has since been deleted, screen shots online show the tweet, which reads, “I can’t believe this cop put me on a choke hole just now s**t is crazy these NY cops don’t know how to do they job F— 12 [sic].”
When one follower responded, “I bet the cops were white,” Cardi, 24, who grew up in the South Bronx area of New York City, responded, “YEUP HE WAS,” in another deleted message.
Mirror Online contacted a NYPD official who dismissed the rapper’s claims.
“The NYPD was made aware of a Tweet made by rapper Cardi B, which was since deleted, and indicated an alleged interaction between the NYPD and her,” the official stated.
“The NYPD has no record or any other information to support the validity of this claim,” he added.
Cardi, real name Belcalis Almanzar, has spoken out several times against law enforcement in the past.
She has expressed support for unemployed quarterback Colin Kaepernick, and she called out cops in Houston before a concert in June 2016, tweeting, “Stop telling me to be safe. Its not the people killin people is the cops.”
