The liberals’ obsession with “identity politics” has taken a strange new turn. Some schools in the U.S. and abroad allow students to self identify as the opposite sex.
Now an American university is allowing students to “self identify” as black.
According to a published report, Brown University is implementing a change to its graduate school application that allows applicants to “self-identify” as persons of color.
The decision allows Asian students to choose another race or ethnicity that will give them higher visibility and afford them special privileges.
According The College Fix, the policy change came about after international Asian American students were not treated as historically underrepresented groups by the university.
Brown University officials claimed the disparity “caused some students to not receive invitations to certain events, such as a multicultural student dinner,” The Brown Daily Herald reported.
But some graduate students think the change will lead to “institutional invisibility” for these students if they claim to be another race or ethnicity.
