A Penn State football recruit is being held on $150,000 bail after he was charged with robbing a Pennsylvania convenience store over the summer.
Isheem Young, 18, is accused of stealing $13,600 from a Wawa store safe in Philadelphia on July 30. Police say the suspect walked into the store and pointed a black revolver at 2 employees. The suspect ordered the employees to lay flat on the floor while he cleaned out the safe.
Police suspected the armed robbery was an inside job. Young’s brother, who worked as the manager of the Wawa, helped him with the robbery.
Police released a video in August asking the public to help identify an armed robber who was seen leaving the Wawa with a noticeable bulge under his white hoodie.
The video shows Young hop into a car driven by a getaway driver.
Young, a 4-star running back and defensive back from Imhotep Charter, committed to the Penn State Nittany Lions 2 weeks before the robbery.
Young was ranked the No. 6 recruit in Pennsylvania and No. 170 in the country by ESPN, according to the NY Daily News.
