Racist text messages about Meghan Markle has led a right-wing party British leader to break up with his girlfriend.
Henry Bolton, 54, told BBC Radio he broke up with his 25-year-old girlfriend, Jo Marney, over text messages she wrote saying Meghan would “taint our royal family.”
The text messages published by England’s Daily Mail newspaper show Marney saying, “This is Britain, not Africa.” She added that Meghan had a “tiny brain” and she would never have sex with “a negro.”
When the text recipient replied back that she was racist, Marney responded with “lol so what.”
Marney was a member of the UK Independence Party, which is led by Bolton.
She was quickly suspended from the Party and Bolton publicly broke up with her.
Bolton told the BBC that Marney’s texts were “appalling and insulting,” but he said he had no plans to step down as leader of UKIP.
Meghan and Prince Harry are set to marry at Windsor Castle on May 19.
