When North Korean leader Kim Jong Un traveled to Singapore to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump, he was accompanied by a famous North Korean pop singer who is not his wife.
Hyon Song Wol is a well-known pop singer who is sometimes referred to as North Korea’s “Spice Girl”. She traveled to Singapore with the 100-strong delegation of North Korean support staff that included high-level diplomats. She even had her own bodyguards.
The 46-year-old singer was once a member of the Moranbong girl band that was supervised by Kim himself, according to published reports.
She was first spotted on Monday in the lobby of the St. Regis Hotel, the luxury hotel where Kim was staying in Singapore. Hyon wore dark sunglasses and a smile.
She is pictured above earlier this year when she traveled to the Seoul Olympics as part of the North Korean cultural delegation, along with Kim’s younger sisters Kim Yo Jong and Kim Sol Song.
In 2013, Hyon was the subject of rumors that she had been executed in front of other musical bands.
But Pyongyang denied the rumors and she was seen alive days later.
