Michelle Obama appears in a promotional video for her Global Girls Alliance. The former First Lady appears in the video with adolescent girls from multicultural backgrounds.
The Global Girls Alliance empowers girls through education in foreign countries.
Mrs. Obama uploaded the video to her social media accounts on Thursday.
In the caption on Instagram.com, she wrote:
“Right now, more than 98 million adolescent girls around the world are not in school. I see myself in these girls. I see my daughters in these girls. I know alot of you see yourselves and your families in them, too.”
Obama came under heavy criticism due to the prohibitively high ticket prices for her book tour, which kicks off at the United Center in Chicago on November 13.

Her loyal fans expressed disappointment at the high prices which range from $500 to $5000 after the cheap tickets sold out within minutes.
But others defended the ticket prices, saying any price is justified since Mrs. Obama is the only Black First Lady in U.S. history.
