President Trump denied knowing rapper and Apprentice contestant Lil Jon during a hostile press conference on Wednesday.
During the press conference held a day after losing the House to the Democrats, Trump lashed out at tenacious CNN reporter Jim Acosta, calling him a “rude, terrible person” who “shouldn’t be working for CNN.”
When Acosta pressed Trump about possible indictments handed down by Robert Mueller, Trump yelled, “That’s enough! Put down the mic.”
CNN fired off a statement to the White House afterwards, calling Trump’s attack on Acosta “dangerous” and reminding the president of his sworn obligation to protect the freedom of the press.
During another exchange with multiple reporters, Trump said he couldn’t understand their accents, and he pretended not to know who music producer and rapper Lil Jon was.
“I don’t know who Lil Jon is,” Trump told a reporter when asked to respond to Jon’s comments about Trump’s “racist” statements.
“The point of fact is I’ve never used a racist remark,” Trump said.
Lil Jon, 47, appeared on Celebrity Apprentice during its 11th and 13th seasons.
