I guess the White House doesn’t want Obama’s overseers in the middle east to be offended by any semblance of Christianity. Especially since Obama has already declared America a non-Christian nation.

In all fairness, not everyone in the US is christian. Besides, we already know that President Obama is not a christian. He may not even be muslim. Most political figures are athiest. With that said, who cares???????

Hmmm… This is an interesting post. I am a Christian but I know the US is officially a secular nation.

The First Amendment of the US Constitution guarntees the free exercise of religion and forbids the establishment of any religious governance.

And if I am not mistaken, most of the ealr settlers came to the new world so they would be free to worship as they pleased without the dominance of the monarchy et al… With that, exactly what is Obama doing wrong?

Not a darn thing and as I said before my father is a preacher at the Church of Christ but he DOES NOT CALL himself a Christian because of the bad connotation that fake Christians have given the word!

Also I am an American and I am not Christian and neither are a number of people in my family…

The only thing that I remotely remember hearing about Obama and non Christian is him saying this is not a Christian nation, a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, or a non believing nation….which is true…the US is an amalgam of things and the least of which is Christian…

@KC Although some people look at being Christian as a bad or negative thing I still say I am a Christian cause I know I try to live Christ like which is what being a christian means to me. I feel where your father is coming from but its funny that he is a Pastor who doesn’t consider himself a Christian..lol

One of the reasons I found this article disturbing is not geared towards any one particular religion.

The US is made of many different religions…it was founded on that principle. We should be acknowledging the diversity of faiths not cancelling them out, as if Faith doesn’t exist or we are to adhere to one god.

We are nothing without our Faith and religious beliefs. What was the purpose of selecting a catholic church to make the speech, then requesting that religious imagery be covered? Couldn’t Obama have gone to a stadium?

@ Daisy that is correct I do believe in God (a higher being) but I do not believe that Jesus rose from the dead. (Which is why I’m not a Christian or celebrate Easter) I believe he was a holy man who walked the earth and preached the word but it stops there for me.

I also don’t believe in Adam in Eve I believe in evolution.

@ iscream, Is there a reason why you don’t believe these things? I am just wondering if it is something that you have researched or is this was something that you were brought up on? I am just curious because everything that I believe (in regard to religion) is what I was brought up on and never had a reason to look further into and (or) question. I understand that they are totally personal reasons and such, I am just curious.
BTW, So over the Obama bashing!! I watched an episode of O’Reily (sp?) factor and I was appalled. I never watched it before but I have heard about it. I think I am gonna delete the Faux channel from my channel list. That Hannity episode from Atl last night was awful as well. I live in Augusta Ga, and we had a small Tea party as well. I think her being one of the only black blogs giving a Republic POV on the POTUS is just the icing on the cake not the center.

I just love it how people make such a big deal over the most minute details.
I am not biased so … in no way shape or form, so I deem some one wrong just because they don’t believe what I believe. That is the problem with most of today’s “Christians'” … that’s the one religion where coexisting is a CRIME.
And for the record — Lets consider the long term goal of INTERNATIONAL UNITY.
