Rashad’s furious followers tagged award University in their tweets as they vented their outrage.
Rashad was recently named dean of Howard University’s Financial Arts department.
“I’m sure Phylicia Rashad being the new dean of Howard University’s College of Fine Arts will have absolutely no bearing whatsoever on how that program handles student claims of sexual harassment and assault,” tweeted one user. “Yep, nothing to see here, folks. Shut up and dance.”
Cosby and one of his attorneys are pictured arriving at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown, Pennsylvania on September 25, 2018.
Andrea Constand, the woman who brought sex assault charges against Cosby in 2017, accepted a $3.4 million settlement from Cosby in 2006.
Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court overturned Cosby’s conviction after it found that the agreement with the previous prosecutor prevented Cosby from being charged for the alleged crimes against Constand (pictured).
Constand has not issued a statement on Cosby’s release.
