Rapper Eve is expecting her first child at age 42 with husband Maximillion Cooper. The Philly native, born Eve Jihan Jeffers, announced her pregnancy in an Instagram post on Friday.
The “Let Me Blow Ya Mind” rapper captioned a photo of her baby bump:
“Can you believe it @mrgumball3000 we finally get to tell everyone!!!!!. You all know how long we’ve been waiting for this blessing!!! We get to meet our lil human February 2022.”
Eve suggested she had difficulty falling pregnant, probably due to her advanced age.
Cooper, a multimillionaire race car driver also shared the photo on his Instagram page. “Very excited to share this news … we have a lil human on the way!”
Cooper is already father to four children – Lotus, 19, Jagger, 17, Cash, 15, and Mini, 13 – from a previous relationship.
Eve discussed being stepmother to four British teenagers in an interview with PEOPLE:
“It’s been now 10 and a half years I’ve been in their lives and they’ve been in my life. They’ve grounded me. In the beginning, when I first met my husband — then-boyfriend — I was like, ‘This is never gonna last because you got four kids! How’s this gonna work?’
“But then I met the kids and honestly was like ‘Wow, kids are amazing.'”
Eve’s pregnancy comes just days before her new musical drama, “Queens,” premieres on ABC TV on October 19.
She stars as single mother Brianna, a member of 1990’s hip-hop group Nasty Bitches, who reunites with the other three members in hopes of making a comeback.
The show also stars “Power” actress Naturi Naughton, “Hart of Dixie” star Nadine Velazquez and R&B Diva Brandy.
