The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has suspended the Biden administration’s mRNA vaccine mandates.
On Nov. 12, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals granted a motion to block OSHA’s Covid-19 mRNA vaccine mandates.
The appeals court stated OSHA’s mandate “grossly exceeds OSHA’s statutory authority.”
However, the Biden Administration told businesses to ignore the 5th Circuit’s court order.
“People should not wait. They should continue to move forward and make sure they’re getting their workplace vaccinated,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters.
On Wednesday, OSHA announced it will comply with the 5th Circuit’s court order. The agency has suspended enforcement of its vaccine mandate for private sector employees pending the outcome of a plethora of lawsuits.
Thousands of essential workers lost their jobs or quit over their refusal to take the mRNA shots. Federal employees had until January 2022 to be fully vaccinated or face termination.
It isn’t clear if private sector employers will follow OSHA’s lead and halt the vaccine mandates for their employees.
The news comes on the same day it was reported that vials of the deadly contagion smallpox was found in a freezer inside a Merck pharmaceutical research lab in Pennsylvania.
The FBI and the CDC are investigating after someone alerted the Department of Homeland Security on Tuesday night. 5 of the vials were labeled “smallpox”.
