Stacey Abrams met with drill rapper Lil Baby at a recent sit-down, where she thanked him for his support.
The Democratic gubernatorial candidate also met with Quality Control Records co-founder and COO Kevin “Coach K” Lee.
Abrams posted a video of their chat on Instagram.
She captioned the video:
“It was a pleasure to meet with you and hear your story. And I appreciate you taking the time to hear mine. We have an election to win and support like yours reminds everyone that they have a place here too.”
Last month, Abrams blamed Kemp for the cancellation of the Music Midtown festival, where rappers Future, 2 Chainz, Denzel Curry, and Key Glock were scheduled to perform.
Music Midtown officials blamed the cancellation on Kemp, saying they couldn’t keep guns out of the venue.
Gov. Kemp signed a law legalizing concealed handguns in public without a permit.
Abrams trails behind Kemp by single digits in every poll. She lost to Kemp in 2018 by a 50.2% to 48.8% margin.
Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms (center) also embraced Atlanta’s hip-hop community after winning the election in 2018. She lasted only one term in office and now works for the Biden administration.
