Mariah Carey and Megan Thee Stallion are set to headline L.A.’s Gay Pride in the Park Festival in June.
For the first time, L.A. Pride will expand its festival to 2 days. Rapper Megan will perform on Friday, June 9 while Pop star Mariah will headline on Saturday, June 10 at Los Angeles State Historic Park.
The festival covers 32 acres with a capacity of 25,000, making it one of the largest official Gay Pride concerts in the country, according to Entertainment Tonight.
“Mariah Carey and Megan Thee Stallion are the perfect artists to headline L.A. Pride in the Park this year as we expand to two days,” said Gerald Garth, board president of L.A. Pride. “These empowering and iconic women are sure to take the stage by storm to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community and will undoubtedly make this year’s LA Pride in the Park an unforgettable experience.”
“I can’t wait to headline L.A. Pride in the Park and celebrate the phenomenal LGBTQIA+ community,” Megan said in a statement. “This incredible event advocates for diversity, inclusivity and equality, so I’m honored to perform and have a blast with all of the Hotties in attendance.”
Mariah and Megan are friends and allies of the LGBT+ community. They both have large gay followings. Megan, 28, dabbles in the lady pond often, but Mariah, 53, is strictly heterosexual.
The “We Belong Together” pop singer shares 11-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, with media mogul Nick Cannon, 42.
In 2016, GLAAD, the world’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy organization, honored Mariah at the 27th Annual GLAAD Media Awards with the Ally Award.
