Troubled Pelicans star Zion Williamson will be traded by this Thursday, according to NBA insiders.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst revealed last week that the Pelicans were open to a trade for the oft-injured player.
The Ringer’s Bill Simmons says a confidential source told him the Pelicans hope to trade Zion before the NBA draft on Thursday.
“The Zion thing is a real, real, real, subplot,” Simmons said on his podcast. “I had somebody tell me yesterday … that he will not be on [the Pelicans] by Thursday.”
The Pelicans are anxious to unload the troubled player because his side piece, Moriah Mills, has become a huge liability.
Moriah continues to drag Zion on Twitter after he impregnated another adult film star without telling her. Moriah found out about Zion’s baby from social media.
Before her Twitter account was suspended on Tuesday, Moriah threatened to sue Zion for missing her monthly allowance payment of $107,000.
She is still active on Instagram and Facebook.
The curvaceous 31-year-old aspiring rapper unleashed a series of angry tweets demanding payment from the 22-year-old basketball star on Monday evening.
“The wire transfer still didn’t come through @Zionwilliamson stop playing in my face !!!!”.
In another tweet, she wrote: “I’m done tweeting @Zionwilliamson see you in court @nba @PelicansNBA !!!!!”
Moriah also threatened to release their sex tapes if she didn’t receive her payment on time.
“You will lose all your endorsements if the sex tapes drop @Zionwilliamson,” she wrote on Twitter. “You about to be traded and rank be lowered and replaced by trey on @PelicansNBA it’s over for you !!! Fat bust.”
The Pelicans’ sponsors are reportedly freaking out. They worry that their family-oriented brands will go down in flames if Moriah continues her social media assault against Zion and the team.

That’s why the Pelicans want to unload him as fast as they can. But there are reports that NBA teams are wary of trading for Zion due to his many injuries and his lack of maturity.
He’s a franchise player when he’s healthy, but his work ethic is poor and he refuses to stay in shape, allegedly.
