Faizon Love reacted to fellow comedian Katt Williams roasting the top Black comedians on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast.
“He’s definitely overrated… Way overrated,” said Faizon in an appearance on The Art of Dialogue podcast. “It’s all mouth and no product. Where’s his successful movies? Where’s his successful TV shows?”
“He did standup, Ok. He did nineteen of those, you know? So, where’s he great at? Greatness is consistent,” Faizon added.
Faizon continued: “The standup is just one part of the sh*t. Eddie [Murphy] got standup, TV, movies. That’s a complete artist.”
Faizon called Katt a “one trick pony.”
When asked if he thought Katt’s personal troubles kept him from achieving greatness, Faizon responded: “Oh, you never heard of Richard Pryor? He lit himself on fire. Problems with the police. Most comedians’ lives are turmoil… But the difference is, he takes it onstage.”
Faizon said Bill Cosby “had the Cosby Show, touring, classic movies. You can’t just do one f****** thing and you the man. No.”
Katt’s fans called Faizon a hater.
One fan wrote: “Katt has won an Emmy in the last 10 years lol. A well deserved one at that.”
Another person wrote: “Imagine calling Kat Williams overrated and you’re not rated at all.”
A third person wrote: “Where’s your successful movies ? Where’s your successful TV shows?”
