Wendy Williams suffered a major setback after a second doctor has confirmed her dementia diagnosis.
Her mental health report – leaked to PEOPLE – upholds Wendy’s court-ordered guardianship and is a major setback for the beloved former talk show host.
According to PEOPLE, the second mental exam confirms Wendy’s dementia and aphasia – the same diagnoses she received in 2023.
The report comes months after Wendy escaped from her assisted living facility and asked police to take her to a hospital for an independent mental eval.
Her original mental diagnosis in 2023 is part of the basis for Wendy’s court-ordered guardianship.
Wendy’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, slammed the mental examination and tells TMZ the test results are “false”. Wendy retained Joe months ago to help her end the restrictive guardianship.
Joe tells TMZ the test results are “being spread by a party with a vested interest in keeping Wendy trapped under this excessive and restrictive guardianship.”
He added that leaking her mental diagnosis is a total violation of Wendy’s rights as a human being.
“The critical questions are these: Where is the actual medical report supporting this leak? And who is the doctor willing to go under oath and face cross-examination by me so the truth can be exposed?”
According to TMZ, neither Wendy or Joe have seen the results of the mental exam that were leaked to the public.
Sources tell TMZ that Judge Lisa Sokoloff told Wendy, her TV career is over and she has no hope of making a comeback.
But Wendy’s battle for her independence isn’t over. She will not stop until she is out of the guardianship for good.
