An Alabama man who fatally shot his former high school football coach has been released on bond.
De’Corlion Keshaun Robinson was released on $165,000 bond on August 19. His bond was set at $150,000 for the murder charge and $15,000 bond for the possession of a machine gun conversion device known as a “switch.”
Robinson, 23, is charged with murder and unlawful possession of a machine gun in the shooting death of 39-year-old Demetrice Beverly.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, Aug. 13, at an apartment in the 1100 block of Lakeshore Ridge.

Robinson (pictured) walked in on his longtime girlfriend while she was engaged in xesual intercourse with Beverly.
Police were dispatched to the apartment complex around 9 p.m. in response to a report of shots fired. They found Beverly’s nude body in a bedroom. He was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.
Robinson’s girlfriend told police that he shot Beverly multiple times before fleeing the apartment.
Police apprehended Robinson in the parking lot of the complex and took him into custody without resistance.
Defense attorney Emory Anthony said Robinson lived with his girlfriend of six years at the apartment.
Beverly previously coached Robinson at A.H. Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama. Robinson’s unnamed girlfriend is also a former student at Parker High School.

Beverly’s death sent shock waves through the community. But supporters prayed for Robinson and raised money for his bond after they learned the circumstances of the shooting.
Beverly’s wife and father told the court they agreed with Robinson being released on bond.
Their agreement to a bond prevented testimony from being presented during the bond hearing on Monday, Aug. 18.
The school issued a statement on Facebook describing Beverly as “a mentor, a husband, a father, and friend whose impact will live on through the countless lives he touched.”
Beverly’s mother created a GoFundMe account that raised over $5,000 for his funeral expenses.
Beverly is survived by his wife and three daughters.
Robinson spoke in a video after his release from jail. He indicated that he broke up with his girlfriend. “I can’t take that hurt no more,” he said. “God is good for real, man. On a serious note, God is good, bruh. On God, I knew it though,” he continued. “I can’t even count like I didn’t know it. I didn’t want to believe it… Don’t no n–a wanna believe their b–h f–g off on them. Trust me, it’s going on… It’s happening. On God. Don’t ever think this sht can’t happen to you. Does he think being out on Bond means the case is over? Did his lawyer not advise him to keep his mouth shut?
