A Los Angeles security guard is suing rapper Cardi B for spitting on her and scratching her face with a 3.5 inch fingernail.
Emani Ellis is suing Cardi B for assault, using racial slurs, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
The incident happened in 2018 at a Beverly Hills obstetrician’s office, where Cardi had a prenatal appointment.
According to TMZ, Emani testified that she spotted her favorite rapper getting off the elevator at the doctor’s office. She said, “Wow, that’s Cardi B.”
Emani said Cardi B flew into a rage and got in her face. Cardi B allegedly accused Emani of using her phone to record her during Cardi’s private prenatal visit.
Cardi was reportedly upset because she was 4 months pregnant and her pregnancy was not yet public.
Emani testified that Cardi took a “swing” at her while shouting obscenities, mocking her weight and dissing her job as a security guard.
Emani also testified that Cardi cut her face with a long fingernail and yelled racial slurs while threatening to get her fired.
Emani said the rapper used her celebrity status to get her fired from her job as a security guard.
However, a rep for the medical building tells TMZ, Cardi’s doctor and patient coordinator were the ones who got Emani fired for violating Cardi’s HIPAA privacy.
The rep says Cardi gave them permission to release that information publicly.
Cardi testified in her own defense during the civil trial on Tuesday. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper took the stand and testified that Emani started following her and recording her on a smartphone back in 2018.
Cardi says she confronted the security guard and they got in each other’s faces in the hallway. They called each other nasty names, including “b–h.”
As for Emani’s claim that Cardi B physically attacked her, Cardi called cap.
Cardi said Emani is way bigger than her and she wouldn’t try to attack her.
Cardi was 4 months pregnant with her daughter Kulture when she got into the altercation with the security guard.
DJ Akademiks commented on Cardi B's court appearance, suggesting she should have settled by paying the woman $100,000. He noted that with Cardi’s weekly expenses at $750,000, the payment would be minor, and the time spent in court isn’t worth it pic.twitter.com/ObRdwppX7p
