Katt’s bodyguard Tranell Williams, 38, was arrested and charged in Carroll’s murder, Fox 13 reported.
Reggie Carroll, 52, was fatally shot at a private residence in Southaven, Mississippi on August 20.
The rental house where Carroll was shot is listed as Tranell Williams’ last known address, according to Fox 13.
The rental home also housed Katt’s online merchandise store. The store was evicted from the property a few days after Carroll was shot, according to Fox 13.

Tranell and Carroll are pictured together.
Fellow comedian and YouTuber Billy Sorrells accused Katt of being involved in Carroll’s death.
In a now-deleted video on Instagram, Sorrells called on Katt to “tell the truth” and admit his involvement in Carroll’s murder.
“We not gonna act like, Katt … You ain’t know who Reggie Carroll was,” Sorrells said in the video. “Katt Williams, you’re the truth teller! You the master of being able to tell everybody else this s–t. You God of War, you ready for anything, right? You the guy! You said my team versus whoever else. Well… I know you love Reggie, we all did. Reggie was a solid n–, he didn’t pick sides. So, Katt Williams tell me why Reggie Carroll died outside your house? Tell us what happened to Reggie Carroll, Katt.”

Sorrells implied that Tranell Williams (pictured) is related to Katt. Sorrells said that after the shooting, someone carried Carroll out of the house and left his body on the curb.
“Don’t sit here and be quiet now,” Sorrells said. “Tranell Williams, a 6’8″, 225-pound n–. Y’all know what size Reggie was. Reggie was [shot] more than five times Why y’all left Reggie on the motherf– curb by your crib, n–?. Tell us why. Tell us why Reggie Carroll died at your house, n– … Why you quiet? We ain’t get a ‘Hey man, RIP.’ You said it’s the year of truth, well tell the truth, n–.”
Despite Sorrells’ litigious accusations in his video, the Southaven Police Department cleared Katt of any wrongdoing. Katt was not in Mississippi at the time of the shooting.
Carroll recently performed as part of Katt’s Heaven on Earth Comedy Tour, FOX 13 reported. He also toured with fellow stand-up comedians Mo’Mique and Red Grant.
In addition to stand-up comedy routines, Carroll also appeared in an episode of “Showtime at the Apollo.”
Katt, Mo’Nique and Red Grant have not commented publicly on this case.
