There is no debate that Kelly Rowland was the top draw at Brandy & Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine Tour” that ran from October 16 to December 14.
The unproblematic singer showed up and showed out for her fans every night. Her showmanship and energetic performance was unmatched.
But now the tour has ended and Kelly confirms she’s back in the studio working on new music for her fans.

“I’m back in the studio… I’m very excited,” she said in a new interview with Samantha Chatman on the “Mama, I Made It” podcast.
When asked what fans can expect from the new project, Kelly acknowledged that things do change, “But one thing that’s at the heart and foundation of who I am is R&B; Rhythm and Blues and Soul. You’re always gonna get R&B and real stories and authenticity.”
She said R&B “is the core of who I am and that’s definitely what you’re gonna get for sure.”
Kelly also discussed reconnecting with her absentee father after 30 years.
When asked how their relationship is going, the Atlanta-born singer responded, “I hope I don’t sound disrespectful when I say ‘I think,’ because I was one of those people who thought I was good [growing up without a father]. But when I looked into my son’s eyes and I knew that there was more to him… If he asked me a question later, what was I going to tell him about his grandfather? I could give him everything about his grandmother. What am I gonna tell him about my father?”
Kelly’s mom, Doris Rowland-Garrison, passed away in 2014.
Kelly Rowland reveals why it was important for her to reconnect with her father after 30 years and gives an update on their relationship.
