Life coach and TV personality Iyanla Vanzant returns to OWN in her new TV series, “Iyanla: The Inside Fix.”
The 72-year-old author is best known as a relationship expert on OWN Network’s “Iyanla: Fix My Life” that ran from June 2, 2012 – May 22, 2021.
In the trailer for “Iyanla: The Inside Fix.”, she discusses how aging and life as a grandmother raising her grandchild changed her perspective from 13 years ago.
“We filmed the very first episode of ‘Fix My Life’ in early 2012 and the world was a very different place then,” Iyanla says. “Prince was still alive, the iPhone 5 was the latest innovation, Instagram had just been born, and Zoom was not yet public. 12 years ago, I could stand up from a chair without sound effects and my great grandson, whom I’m now raising hadn’t even been born.”
Iyanla: Fix My Life featured the motivational speaker helping people overcome problems of their own making.
Iyanla, who holds a Master’s degree in spiritual psychology, used psychology and psychoanalysis to convince her guests to see their problems from a different perspective.
In one episode dated September 15, 2012, Iyanla traveled to Miami to visit reality TV star Evelyn Lozada (Basketball Wives), who experienced domestic violence at the hands of her then-husband, Chad Ochocinco Johnson.
Iyanla authored 17 books and was the New York Times #1 bestselling author six times.
