Drill rapper Lil Zay Osama is among six people charged with a violent home invasion in Winnetka, Illinois last month. The Chicago native is facing robbery and kidnapping charges in a federal indictment.
Federal prosecutors say Osama, real name Isaiah Dukes, and others broke into a home and allegedly demanded access to a safe, computer and online cryptocurrency accounts.

The “Changed Up” rapper was named in an indictment that was unsealed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office on Tuesday, April 28.
Osama, 28, who now lives in Los Angeles, was among six people charged on April 16. They are being held without bond. Prosecutors say Osama and his crew posed as food delivery drivers.
The feds have jurisdiction over the case since Osama and his crew crossed state lines to commit their crimes.
Osama’s defense attorney, Michael Clancy, said his client “is hoping to get to trial as soon as possible.”
“My client was not present at the robbery and he did not set up this robbery,” Clancy said.

Osama was arrested twice in 2023 on weapons charges. He was previously arrested in New York for leaving a loaded machine gun on the backseat of an Uber in 2022.
According to court documents, federal prosecutors say an Uber driver picked up Osama and his crew on Sept. 29, 2022. When Osama entered the vehicle, the driver noticed he was holding a firearm.
After dropping Osama off in Queens, N.Y., the Uber driver realized the rapper left his firearm in the back seat. The driver then called police who recovered the weapon that was equipped with a switch.
A switch is a small device that easily converts a handgun into a machine gun. Police tracked down Osama and arrested him. He was released on $1 million bail in October 2022.
A federal judge in Brooklyn, NY, sentenced Osama to 14 months in prison in 2024 after he pleaded guilty to possession of a machine gun.
