The incident happened at 6:40 a.m. outside the Hilton hotel on Avenue of the Americas in Midtown Manhattan. The masked suspect shot Thompson in the leg and back.

Three shell casings were found at the scene. The suspect ran into an alleyway where he discarded the cell phone. He then boarded an e-bike and was last seen riding into Central Park. Police are “going through” the cellphone for evidence.

Police also recovered a water bottle and candy wrapper left behind at the scene of the shooting which they believe are linked to the gunman. Fingerprint and DNA analysis were conducted on the items, law enforcement sources told ABC News.

50-year-old Thompson, who lived in Minnesota with his wife and 2 children, was in town to attend the UnitedHealthcare investors conference at the Hilton. He was killed while he walked to the Hilton hotel from the Marriott hotel where he was staying. The investors conference was canceled.

Police executed a search warrant at a location in New York City where they believe the suspect may have been staying, sources told ABC News.

Police analyzed surveillance footage around New York City and captured footage of the suspect at 5 a.m. outside Frederick Douglass Houses, a public housing project on the Upper West Side. The footage showed the suspect carrying what appeared to be an e-bike battery.

The NYPD released more surveillance video of the suspect talking on his cellphone near the scene of the crime 10 minutes before the shooting.

Detectives believe the gunman is not a professional killer, sources said.

Police also revealed the words “Deny”, “Defend”, and “Depose” were written on the shell casings found at the scene.

The “brazen, targeted attack” was “premeditated,” NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said on Wednesday. NYC Mayor Eric Adams said the crime was not a random attack.

Thompson’s wife, Paulette Thompson, said in a statement that she was “shattered” by the “senseless killing.”

Paulette told a reporter that Thompson received “some threats.” She believed the shooting was related to healthcare coverage.

Thousands of UnitedHealthcare consumers left angry messages on social media after the news broke. Some praised the murder suspect and said Thompson killed millions of people by denying their insurance claims.

The gunman who fatally shot UnitedHealth Group CEO Brian Thompson early Wednesday used a silencer on his firearm, sources say.

Thompson, 50, was shot as he walked past a hotel in Midtown Manhattan at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday. A woman who witnessed the shooting right in front of her was not harmed.

Police released surveillance images of the suspect and video recorded outside the New York Hilton Midtown Hotel on the Avenue of the Americas near 54th street. The video shows Thompson wearing a blue jacket and dark pants walking past the hotel.

A man wearing a black hoodie and a grey backpack approached Thompson from behind and fired a handgun equipped with a silencer. According to firearms experts, the gunman racked the gun after each shot because he used subsonic ammunition which caused the gun to jam.

Afterwards, the man ran across the street and fled the scene on an electric Citibike.

Thompson earned $10 million a year as CEO of UnitedHealth Group. He also earned a $20 million bonus.

According to reports, Thompson and UnitedHealthcare Chairman Stephen Helmsley were under investigation by the DOJ for selling over $114 million in company stock last year. Thompson reportedly sold $12 million in UnitedHealth stock worth $521 a share at the time. While Helmsley sold over $102 million in stock.

Thompson’s wife, Paulette Thompson, told NBC News he had been receiving “some threats” but she didn’t know the details.

“I just know that he said there were some people that had been threatening him,” she said. “I can’t really give a thoughtful response right now. I just found this out and I’m trying to console my children,” she added.

His family said Thompson was a “good father” to his 2 children.

The gunman is still on the loose. New York City officials are considering canceling the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree lighting ceremony scheduled for tonight.

Sean Combs’ son Christian Combs was served with a sex assault lawsuit at Sean Combs‘ Miami mansion.

Christian, an aspiring rapper also known as “King Combs,” was served with the paperwork at his father’s Star Island mansion. The lawsuit was filed by Grace O’Marcaigh, who accuses Christian of assault, battery, sexual assault, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

The lawsuit stems from a July 2022 incident when O’Marcaigh worked on the Victorious yacht chartered by Combs.

According to the documents, obtained by Black Enterprise, the Bad Boy Records founder turned “what was sold as a wholesome family excursion into a hedonistic environment.”

As part of her duties as a hostess, O’Marcaigh, 27, served dinner and drinks to guests from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. During her shift, she said she saw a “constant rotation of suspected sex workers” and celebrities partying and taking drugs.

“It resulted in an unexpected increase in workload for her and her colleagues as well as unwanted exposure to unlawful drug use, sex work, and general chaos,” the lawsuit states.

O’Marcaigh said that Christian boarded the yacht with music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones Jr. — who also filed a lawsuit accusing Combs of s3xual assault.

O’Marcaigh alleged that when Christian came aboard, he was “heavily intoxicated” and paid particular attention to her, which she “considered very inappropriate.”

She claimed Christian “pressured” her to drink tequila and cornered her in a room where he became “physical and extremely aggressive by groping her.”

O’Marcaigh said she has 2 recordings that show her “declining alcohol, saying she had to leave and telling Christian to stop touching her with what sounds like kissing noises in the background.”

Later, she said Christian approached her and asked her to find him a place to sleep. Despite her ordeal with him earlier, she directed him to a movie theater where he could sleep. But she said Christian grabbed her arms and blocked her in when she tried to leave.

Her complaint included a photo of bruises on her arm – which she said was taken after the incident.

“Like father, like son. It gives us no joy or pleasure in filing this suit against Christian Combs,” O’Marcaigh’s NY-based attorney Tyrone Blackburn said in a statement to NBC News.

Los Angeles-based attorney Rodney S. Diggs added, “I applaud Grace for being so brave to come forward with her truth. Hopefully her story will inspire others to come forward.”

Grace stated that she continues to experience significant harm as a result of Christian’s actions.

“[Grace’s] mental health deteriorated to the point that she was medicated and required intensive therapy. Additionally, she fell into a deep depression and was unable to fully carry out her maid of honor duties at the wedding of her only sister in June 2023, which she had been looking forward to doing for over eighteen months,” her lawyer wrote.

O’Marcaigh is seeking unspecified compensation for her loss of gainful employment and pain and suffering.

Brian Thompson, a UnitedHealth Group CEO, was fatally shot outside a hotel in Midtown Manhattan early Wednesday.

Thompson, 50, was shot by a lone gunman just after 6:45 a.m. outside the New York Hilton Midtown Hotel on the Avenue of the Americas near 54th street.

Witnesses described a masked gunman wearing all black and a tan backpack. After the shooting he fled the scene on a bicycle. They said he lay in wait for Thompson outside the hotel. He then approached Thompson and shot him multiple times in the chest from about 20 feet away.

According to a police report, Thompson was transported to Mount Sinai West hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Thompson was CEO of UnitedHealth Group’s insurance unit.

According to reports, Thompson and UnitedHealthcare Chairman Stephen Helmsley were under investigation by the DOJ for selling over $114 million in company stock last year. Thompson reportedly sold $12 million in UnitedHealth stock worth $521 a share at the time. While Helmsley sold over 102 million shares of stock.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams told reporters, “We want to be clear to New Yorkers that this does not appear to be a random act of violence.”

Optum, a company under the UnitedHealth Group umbrella, sent emails to employees in the New York office telling them to take the day off and go home.

Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota tweeted: “This is a horrifying and shocking act of violence. My thoughts are with Brian Thompson’s family and loved ones and all those working at United Healthcare in Minnesota.”

Exclusive leaked video shows Andrew Tate (pictured center) advising men to isolate women away from their friends and family to control them.

Andrew Tate is a misogynistic “manosphere” influencer who promotes anti-feminist ideas on social media.

The manosphere is a community of vulnerable men who are intimidated by successful women who earn more money than they do.

According to Dailydot.com, hackers obtained 75 videos from Tate’s “The War Room” subscription-only seminars.

In the videos, Tate details tactics men can use to manipulate and control women.

In one video, Tate is joined by adult film star Stirling Cooper and self-described “alpha mentor” Justin Waller.

Tate advises men on techniques to isolate women from their friends and family.

“If she has, like, a really strong social circle, and she really insists on seeing them, they’re going to have a big influence over her,” Tate says, according to a transcription by the Daily Dot. “And it’s in your best interest to keep her away from that social circle.”

Tate also advised men to watch what they say around women.

“Women can’t shut the f*ck up either,” Tate adds. “They’ll talk your business, they’ll give their side of the story only. You’re a bad guy now.”

“People will call it manipulation. But what you’re really doing is putting the pieces on the chess board in the best place for you to win,” he said.

Tate and his brother Tristan were arrested in December 2022 for allegedly kidnapping, drugging and raping women. Tate also allegedly held women against their will and forced them to livestream pr0n videos from which he earned 100% of the profits.

Tate is currently out on bond and as free as a bird. While music mogul Sean Combs cools his heels in a rat- and roach-infested jail cell in NYC while awaiting trial on similar human trafficking charges.

Rocker Matt Healy, best known as one of Taylor Swift‘s ex-boyfriends, has backtracked on a threat to “slap” singer Azealia Banks.

Matt, lead singer and guitarist for rock band 1975, uses shock humor to get attention on social media. He spends a lot of time on social media arguing with his female followers.

But on Tuesday, Matt decided to take on Azealia Banks and threaten to “slap” fire out of the singer.

It all started when Azealia dissed British singer Charli XCX on X (formerly Twitter). Azealia commented on a photo of Charli XCX and wrote that the “Apple” singer “used to be sooo pretty.”

Matt rushed to Charli XCX’s defense by dragging Azealia’s looks and personality.

“Azealia you seem to have a blind spot when it comes to your ‘reads’. All the women you attack seem to be culturally relevant, attractive, divisive and NICE people. I think this makes you jealous cos you’re so talented but everything else about you is a failure. Just rap bro,” he wrote.

Then he turned his attention to X users who trolled his fiancée Gabbriette Bechtel for drinking raw milk. In an interview with High Snobiety, Gabby said, “I recently started drinking raw milk and I love it.”

One person wrote: “Let her drink the raw milk and sh*t out her intestines. I’m done advocating for rights these dummies don’t want.”

Others noted that cows don’t drink raw milk – cows prefer to drink water.

Matt responded to the comments by threatening to “slap” his followers.

Azealia then hopped in the comments to drag Gabby.

Matt warned Azealia “I am not the one,” after she described him as a “homosexual heroin addict” who looks like he and Gabby “share needles.”

Matt and Azealia’s followers are currently at war with each other on X. Matt later backtracked and halfway apologized for threatening to slap a woman.

A female NBA referee was reportedly warned by the league’s front office for groping a Chicago Bulls player during the Bulls vs Brooklyn Nets game on Monday, Dec. 2.

A screenshot from the game shows former USC star Simone Jelks allegedly grope Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu in the nether region.

Jelks, 38, graduated from the University of Southern California in 2008. After officiating three years of college basketball, Jelks officiated 16 regular-season NBA games as a non-staff official. She was promoted to the NBA officiating staff on December 23, 2020.

Referees are cautioned not to get too personal with NBA players, but Dosunmu is so fine that Jelks probably couldn’t resist.

Ayo Dosunmu is emerging as the Bulls’ best 2-way player. The 24-year-old, 6-ft-5 star is a fan favorite in Chicago, where he was born on January 17, 2000.

Chicago re-signed Dosunmu (left) to a multi-year $21 million contract in 2023 after drafting him in 2020. He continued to show his gratitude to his hometown fans by hosting a block party and basketball clinic for children in one of Chicago’s most violent neighborhoods.

“No matter if I re-signed with the Bulls or not, me being from Chicago my main focus was still the same,” Dosunmu told The NY Times. “I still was going to always try to give back to my city. This is the city that raised me. This is the city that made me. But of course, re-signing back with the Bulls now, it gives me more flexibility to be more on-hand.”

“Being in that small percentile of NBA players who get to get drafted to their hometown, I think that’s a huge blessing for me and I think it comes with a lot of responsibilities,” Dosunmu said. “And one of them, I think, is just giving back. I always love to give back. That was always a dream of mine. And now that I have the chance and the platform and the opportunity, I’m going to try to do as much as I can.”

Rapper Eminem’s mother Debbie Nelson has died after a short battle with stage 4 lung cancer. She was 69.

TMZ reported Debbie died on Monday night in St. Joseph, Missouri. Her terminal illness was revealed in September. Reports at the time said she didn’t have long to live.

Eminem’s relationship with his mother was strained and dysfunctional. They often aired their dirty laundry in public. Early in his rap career, Eminem accused his mother of being neglectful and abusive. He dissed his mom in rap tracks like “Cleanin’ Out My Closet.”

Eminem refused to let his mom have a relationship with his daughter, Hailie Jade.

Debbie sued her son for defamation in 1999, and she also wrote a tell-all 2007 memoir, “My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem.”

In recent years, mother and son reconciled. In the 2013 track “Headlights”, Eminem expressed regret over his harsh words and apologized to Debbie. The song was released on Mother’s Day.

Debbie congratulated Eminem on his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2022. After her diagnosis, he reportedly paid for her cancer treatments and around the clock care.

Eminem (born Marshall Mathers) became a global superstar after the release of his single “My Name Is.” He won the Best Rap Album Grammy for three consecutive albums: The Slim Shady LP, The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show. He also received the Academy Award for Best Original Song for “Lose Yourself,” from the 2002 film 8 Mile, which he also starred in.

Popular Fox News commentator Dr. Kelly Powers has died after a battle with aggressive brain cancer. She was 45.

Powers, a successful podiatric surgeon, was first diagnosed with brain cancer in 2020. She went into remission before the terminal illness returned this year.

Dr. Powers was a regular on the Fox News talk show “Red Eye,” and she made appearances on Fox Business. She went into heart failure while live on the air in 2018.

After experiencing pain in her back and chest and shortness of breath, she’d gone to three emergency rooms and was told that she was “fine”.

But she wasn’t fine. Powers went into heart failure during a live report on FOX Business.

“Here I was – a doctor talking to the public and giving expert advice… Meanwhile, I was missing the subtle signs in myself of heart failure,” Powers told Preferred Health magazine after her diagnosis.

She added: “I definitely feel like I cheated death!”

In 2020, after suffering from frequent headaches, Powers had a grand mal seizure that sent her to the emergency room. There doctors diagnosed her with the aggressive brain cancer glioblastoma. It is the same form of brain cancer that took the life of Atlanta news anchor Jovita Moore in 2021. Moore was 54.

Powers called herself “the luckiest unlucky girl” during her interview with Preferred Health magazine.

After three surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation, she went into remission. She later became pregnant and gave birth to a boy, Bennett, according to a GoFundMe.

When her cancer returned in 2024, friends raised nearly $100,000 to help pay for an experimental treatment that insurance wouldn’t cover.

Powers is survived by Bennett, 3, and her husband, Steve.
