Trump to Federal WFH Employees: ‘Return to Work Or You’re Fired’

President-elect Donald Trump and his advisor Elon Musk have a message for federal work-from-home employees: return to work or you’re fired.

Trump, who doesn’t take office until January 20, 2025, has put the word out that he plans to kill remote work.

Days after Trump won the election, he appointed Tesla founder Elon Musk and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy to lead a task force called the “Department of Government Efficiency,” or DOGE, to cut government waste.

Among their recommendations is to fire thousands of non-essential government workers, including remote workers and civilian employees.

Musk believes the problem will take care of itself if work-from-home jobs end.

The government employs 2 million workers. Musk and Ramaswamy plan to fire 500,000 workers on Day 1 of Trump’s administration.

Those employees who don’t return to work can stay home and search the Wanted ads for a new job.

Musk fired or laid off 80% of Twitter’s workforce when he purchased the social media app for $44 billion.

“With a decisive electoral mandate and a 6–3 conservative majority on the Supreme Court, DOGE has a historic opportunity for structural reductions in the federal government,” Musk and Ramaswamy wrote in an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal published on Wednesday.

Musk and Ramaswamy plan to cut $2 trillion from the federal budget, nearly a third of the $6.75 trillion fiscal total.

The Illinois Supreme Court reversed Jussie Smollett‘s conviction for lying to police about a hate crime hoax. The stunning decision on Thursday morning overturns an appeals court ruling in 2022 that upheld Smollett’s 2021 conviction.

The Illinois Supreme Court found that a special prosecutor violated the “Empire” actor’s rights by indicting him after the Cook County state’s attorney’s office previously dropped all charges against him.

“We are aware that this case has generated significant public interest and that many people were dissatisfied with the resolution of the original case and believed it to be unjust,” the justices said in their opinion. “Nevertheless, what would be more unjust than the resolution of any one criminal case would be a holding from this court that the State was not bound to honor agreements upon which people have detrimentally relied.”

Smollett faced a maximum of 10 years in prison for wasting Chicago police resources on a hate crime hoax in 2019. Smollett claimed he was ambushed and beaten by 2 Trump supporters while walking to a Subway restaurant in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood on Jan. 29, 2019.

He claimed that two White men attacked him in the Loop, hitting him, yelling homophobic slurs and placing a noose around his neck.

But Chicago police noted that the Subway sandwich Smollett held in his hand was pristine and intact.

An investigation eventually uncovered a conspiracy between Smollett and 2 African brothers he hired to attack him that night.

The brothers testified against Smollett in exchange for immunity from prosecution.

A jury convicted Smollett of five of six counts of disorderly conduct in December of 2021 for lying to the police. Smollett was sentenced to 150 days in jail, 30 months of probation and $130,160 in restitution.

A Ohio woman who fatally shot her wife died after a high-speed police pursuit in Indiana.

Springfield Township police responded to a home in the 2700 block of Lincoln Avenue around 7 a.m. Monday, according to a press release. They found 33-year-old Lacresha Black shot multiple times on her front porch. She was pronounced dead at the scene, WCPO reported.

Police say Black was shot by Terea Denise Brown, 42, following an altercation inside the house. Officials said Brown fled the scene in a dark-colored Chevrolet Cruise. The vehicle information was broadcast to law enforcement agencies in neighboring jurisdictions.

Indiana State Troopers spotted the car in Clinton County, Indiana and gave pursuit. At some point, Brown exited I-65 and stopped her car on a county road near State Route 28. A gunshot was fired from inside Brown’s vehicle, police said, and troopers returned fire. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. A gun was found inside her vehicle.

The 911 caller told police that Black was his caretaker. He discovered her body on the front porch. The man told the 911 dispatcher that he didn’t know the name of the woman who shot Black but he’d seen her at the home before.

The drought is over for Jennifer Lopez. The 55-year-old actress is reportedly falling head over heels in love with her handsome bodyguard.

An insider tells Radar Online that Lopez is “secretly falling in love” with her tall, dark and handsome bodyguard. The source said Lopez and her bodyguard aren’t officially dating yet.

“Jen is not actively dating right now, but that doesn’t mean she can’t have fun,” the source said.

The source added: “She’s flirting where it’s safe to flirt and of course she’s attracted to the guy, but mostly she knows that it will drive Ben [Affleck] crazy.”

During another outing 2 days later, they were seen leaving her hotel together. Jennifer wore an animal print designer outfit from head-to-toe.

The news comes just months after the pop singer filed for divorce from actor Ben Affleck.

Another source told Woman’s Day that Lopez didn’t want the divorce, but Affleck moved out of their marital home, which left her no choice but to file.

“She didn’t want this divorce, but Ben’s always been the type to run from his problems. In her mind, a little flirting will redeem her image – after all, Jen is always the dumper, not the dumpee.”

Last month, during a chat with Interview magazine, Lopez said being single is uncharted territory for her. But she wanted to live her life as a single mother of 2 before jumping back into a relationship right away.

She admitted that being single made her feel “lonely, unfamiliar, scary, sad” and “desperate”, and she added “being in a relationship doesn’t define” her.

Lopez said at the time: “When you sit in those feelings and go, ‘These things are not going to kill me,’ it’s like, ‘Actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself.'”

Caitlin Clark Rejects $1 Million Offer to Join New Unrivaled League

WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark won’t play for the new women’s basketball league, Unrivaled, a source tells ESPN.

The source said the Indiana Fever star guard rejected a $1 million offer to join the new 3-on-3 women’s basketball league. The $1 million offer is significantly more than her salary as a WNBA rookie.

The new 3-on-3 league was co-founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier.

Unrivaled announced the rosters and coaches for its 6 teams during a 22-minute YouTube live-stream on Wednesday.

All Unrivaled games will be played in Miami, starting on January 17, 2025.

Unrivaled players will reportedly receive salaries of $250,000 – the highest in women’s sports history. All of the players will also receive equity in the league.

Pre-season tickets sold out on Wednesday. Fans speculated that Unrivaled was trying to entice Clark to join by signing her Fever teammates Aliyah Boston and Lexie Hull and Clark’s close friend and former Iowa teammate Kate Martin. But Clark’s fans took to social media in droves to discourage her from joining the new league.

Clark’s fans cite the rude welcome she received from WNBA players during her record-breaking rookie season.

Players repeatedly dismissed Clark’s influence on the WNBA’s surging growth in 2024. They claimed other rookies were equally responsible for the league’s increased TV viewership and ticket sales.

The WNBA refused to suspend players who intentionally committed hard fouls on Clark. Players routinely targeted the 22-year-old superstar for abuse.

When Clark’s vocal fan base defended her online, some players accused them of being racist “White supremacists.”

But the final insult came when Clark was deprived of becoming the WNBA’s fifth-ever unanimous Rookie of the Year after her outstanding season. Although Clark easily won the Rookie of the Year award, she was one vote shy of being the unanimous winner.

Clark received 66 of 67 votes from a panel of national reporters and sports writers. The reporter who cast the lone vote for Chicago Sky star Angel Reese never revealed their identity.

Aliyah Boston, Tina Charles, Elena Delle Don and A’ja Wilson are the only players ever to win the award unanimously.

“With so much hate and negativity in the world today, it confuses me why some national sports media still think that the best way to cover sports is through negative takes. We can all acknowledge that sports is the last part of society that universally brings us together. So why can’t the coverage do the same? It’s only Click bait when you say it. When the platform is so big, you can make the change and allow us all and escape from real life negativity. I for one find it all a waste of breath. The Olympics and JJ and Bron show with the future of what this can and should all be.”

Other celebrities who have fled X for Bluesky social media app are Gabrielle Union, Jamie Lee Curtis and Don Lemon. Bluesky announced it had surpassed over 20 million users.

Some fans were happy to see LeBron go.
