Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter Album to Compete in Grammy’s Country Category

Beyonce insists that her Act II: Cowboy Carter album is not a country music album. So why is she competing in the country music category at the Grammy Awards?

As you know, Beyonce is desperate for the one Grammy award that has eluded her for decades. She has won 32 Grammys, making her the most awarded artist in Grammy history.

She has only one major award win at the Grammys — song of the year for “Single Ladies.” Her awards include 21 Grammys in R&B and three in the rap category.

Cowboy Carter is expected to earn a nomination for album of the year at the 2025 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles in February. But it’s doubtful she will win since she has already said CC is not a country album.

Beyonce was snubbed by the Country Music Awards, where she was not nominated in a single category. Her album and single “Texas Hold ‘Em” also lost in a whopping 17 categories at the People’s Choice Awards.

Via THR — “If Beyoncé — the most decorated artist in Grammy history — earns a best country album nod, it would be her first in the genre and she would become the rare artist who has scored nominations across multiple genres at the Grammys. At the 2017 show, she made history with Lemonade as the first artist to garner nods in the rock, rap, R&B and pop fields in the same year.”

If Beyonce loses the Grammy for album of the year, the loss will likely send her over the edge. The mom-of-three doesn’t handle rejection very well.

Actor John Amos’ daughter said she learned about his death through social media. Shannon Amos paid tribute to her late father in a video shared on Instagram that showed the two dancing to the song “Dance with My Father” by Luther Vandross.

She captioned her post: “I am without words… Our family has received the heartbreaking news that my dad, John Allen Amos, Jr., transitioned on August 21st. We are devastated and left with many questions about how this happened 45 days ago, learning about it through the media like so many of you.”

The “Good Times” star was 84. His death was announced on October 1 by his son, Kelly Christopher Amos (pictured).

“It is with heartfelt sadness that I share with you that my father has transitioned,” the statement provided to CNN reads. “He was a man with the kindest heart and a heart of gold… and he was loved the world over. Many fans consider him their TV father. He lived a good life. His legacy will live on in his outstanding works in television and film as an actor.”

The actor’s children disagreed over his medical care and accused each other of elder abuse, prompting investigations by the authorities. The cases were eventually closed due to lack of evidence.

Amos (pictured with Queen Latifah) played stern Evans family patriarch James Evans on Norman Lear’s hit situation comedy “Good Times” in the 1970s. He also played the adult Kunta Kinte in the 1977 miniseries “Roots” and Cleo McDowell in “Coming to America” (1988).

Atlantans Say Concert Tickets Are Being Stolen Out of Their Ticketmaster Accounts

Picture this: You bought concert tickets for an upcoming Usher show in Atlanta. The tickets were cheap because his previous shows were canceled due to slow ticket sales. But the next time you checked your Ticketmaster account, your Usher tickets were gone.

Ticketmaster customers across Atlanta are seeing tickets being stolen out of their accounts.

Customers told Channel 2 consumer investigator Justin Gray that the tickets were transferred and claimed by other people.

Gwinnett County resident Annie Wells had tickets to Disney on Ice and rapper Post Malone stolen out of her account.

“I opened my Ticketmaster app to see four of our tickets for the event on Sunday had been claimed by this random name and they were gone,” Wells said.

Seattle resident Virginia Lasky saw 14 tickets disappear.

“When I clicked on the tickets one by one, it showed they had all been transferred and claimed,” Lasky said.

In an SEC filing, Ticketmaster blamed a data breach of a third-party cloud database.

The hackers stole information and tickets of millions of Ticketmaster customers.

Ticketmaster claims tickets have been reissued and ticketing innovations have reduced fraud.

“Overall, our digital ticketing innovations have greatly reduced fraud compared to the days of paper tickets and duplicated PDFs. Having that digital history is also how we are able to investigate and successfully return tickets for fans.” Ticketmaster said in a statement.

Singer Usher was scheduled to launch his “Past, Present, Future” tour at State Farm Arena in Atlanta in August. But the concerts were postponed until December due to low ticket sales.

The 45-year-old crooner blamed “fatigue” and a neck injury for the cancellations. Since then, a handful of his shows have been sold out in Washington, DC and California.

Wendy Williams has spoken out about Sean “Puffy” Combs’s sex trafficking allegations in one of her first interviews since her bombshell “Where is Wendy?” documentary.

Williams, 60, was among the first journalists to accuse Combs of going both ways in the 1990s. Wendy was a popular morning show host in New York City when she told her listeners that Combs, 54, was bisexual.

Sandra Rose/Sandrarose.com

Combs denied the allegations. But Wendy mentioned a photo posted on a gossip blog that showed Combs in a compromising position with another man.

“What is really weird is that I have been told by so many people ‘Wendy you called it,'” she told DailyMail.com exclusively. “Including some people from my family who have said the same.”

The former TV host, who said she was “doing good” in the wake of her aphasia diagnosis and health concerns, said she was horrified at the video of Combs abusing his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel lobby.

“You know how I feel about that? It is about time,” she said. “To see this video on TV of [Cassie] getting pummeled… it was just horrific. But now you have to think, how many more times? How many people? How many more women? It’s just so horrible.”

Some fans have since claimed that had Williams still been on air, she would have highlighted the fact she had warned of his alleged behavior for years.

One fan wrote: “I truly miss Auntie Wendy Williams on days like today. No one did hot topics like she did. No one. I can almost hear her going off on Puffy (Diddy) and telling us she told us so. Because she’s always known and she tried to tell us. Many times. I hope she’s doing better.”

“Don’t forget that Wendy Williams told us exactly who Sean Combs was back in 1998. 26 years ago!,” read another comment.

A video recently resurfaced that shows an awkward interview from Combs’s 2017 appearance on “The Wendy Williams Show.”

The clip showed Combs talking to Wendy about her son Kevin Hunter Jr., who was 16 at the time.

“As the mother of a now 16-year-old…” Wendy said before Combs interrupted her: “Mhm, who I met backstage, he’s a great, great young man.”

“Oh, thank you!” said Wendy, who seemed flustered by what Combs said. She stuttered while losing her train of thought.

“Her silence speaks volumes…. she’s thinking you better stay away from my kid!!” wrote one X user.

Another X user wrote: “It’s interesting to me this reaction. One, her reaction tells me she knows something and what ever she knows— she don’t want Diddy near her kid. I think we all know ‘what’ that is.”

On Tuesday, Tony Buzbee, a prominent Houston attorney, announced 120 lawsuits he plans to file against Combs, who is locked up in Brooklyn MDC on sex trafficking charges.

One of Buzbee’s clients is a man who was allegedly 9-years-old at the time of the alleged abuse.

Buzbee said Combs will throw his A-list friends under the bus to save his own skin.

Ashton Kutcher, LeBron James Worried that Sean Combs Might Make False Allegations About Them

Ashton Kutcher, LeBron James, and other A-listers are concerned that jailed music mogul Sean Combs might make up false stories about them as part of his plea deal.

Combs, 54, was arrested in Manhattan on Sept. 16. He is charged with sex trafficking, conspiracy, kidnapping, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Combs is currently jailed at the federal Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Sources say a federal judge rejected Combs’s $50 million bond proposal to force him to accept a plea deal.

But Combs’s Hollywood pals who attended his White Parties are concerned that he might falsify stories about them as part of his plea deal.

Kutcher is on videos recorded at Combs’s homes in the Los Angeles area. The feds seized hundreds of hours of videos during simultaneous raids in Miami and L.A. earlier this year.

Kutcher, LeBron James, and others are concerned that the videos might be misinterpreted.

LeBron, 39, was a frequent guest at Combs’s mansion on Star Island in Miami, Florida when he played for the Miami Heat from 2010-2014.

LeBron reportedly told friends “nothing happened” when he attended Puffy’s parties.

Kutcher, 46, attended at least 2 of Combs’s white parties. A source tells DailyMail.com that Kutcher is “terrified” that Combs might drag him into his legal drama.

Prince Williams/ATLpics.net

Kutcher and LeBron are also concerned that plaintiffs who are suing Combs will make up stories about them too.

A-listers who attended Puffy’s infamous parties are scrubbing their social media accounts. Pop Singer Pink and R&B singer Usher deleted every tweet off their X.com timelines after Combs was arrested. Usher claimed his X account was hacked.

“Ashton absolutely regrets his friendship with Diddy considering what has happened,” an insider told DailyMail.com. “He feels lied to, betrayed, taken for granted and manipulated.”

Lesley Garcia / BACKGRID

The insider added: “Ashton does have fears about how this investigation will play out. He feels Diddy would have no problem lying to authorities and tossing out some of his famous friend’s names if it meant it could get him out of jail.”

The source continued: “Diddy could say anything, do anything or turn on anyone at this point. Everyone who is close to Diddy fears the possibility of Diddy making up false allegations to clear his own name.”

Sandra Rose/Sandrarose.com

Prominent Houston, Texas lawyer Tony Buzbee is representing 120 “victims” in lawsuits against Combs. He says one of his new clients was only nine years old when he was allegedly touched by Combs at his Bas Boy offices.

“When we talk about the ages of the victims when the conduct occurred, it’s shocking,” Buzbee said at a press conference on Tuesday. “Our youngest victim at the time of the occurrence was 9 years old. We have an individual who was 14 years old. We have one who was 15.”

The outfit is reminiscent of the suiting silhouettes that dominated the 1980s, notably in cult-classic films like Working Girl. The structured blazer was juxtaposed against a bubble-hem ruched mini skirt—an unlikely pairing that, somehow, worked. Call it the Zendaya effect.”

Jacksonville Jaguars Employee Who Stole $22 Million Sues FanDuel for $250 Million

A former Jacksonville Jaguars employee who stole $22 million from the team is suing FanDuel for $250 million.

Amit Patel filed a civil lawsuit against FanDuel in the Southern District of New York on Tuesday. The lawsuit, obtained by ESPN, claims the sportsbook app “exploited” Patel’s gambling addiction.

The complaint further states that FanDuel intentionally ignored its responsible gaming and anti-money laundering protocols.

Photo may have been deleted

Patel’s lawyer said FanDuel allowed his client to continue gambling excessive amounts of money despite Patel exhibiting clear signs of a gambling addiction.

According to court documents, Patel transferred approximately $20 million to FanDuel from bank accounts he controlled.

FanDuel gave Patel $1.1 million in credits as well as trips to major sporting events to reward him for being a Super High Roller.

Patel’s attorney, Matthew Litt, said the incentives and gifts from FanDuel encouraged his client to continue indulging his gambling sickness.

“Defendants actively and intentionally targeted and preyed on Plaintiff with incentives, credits, and gifts to create, nurture, expedite, and/or exacerbate his addiction with the only possible outcome that he would ultimately hit rock bottom,” Litt wrote in the complaint.

The lawsuit alleges that FanDuel’s VIP host, Brett Krause, contacted Patel on multiple occasions to find out why he wasn’t gambling on those days.

Krause acknowledged that they were “breaking AML [anti-money laundering protocol],” the lawsuit says.

Krause even moved certain texts with Patel to his personal cell phone “to avoid detection by FanDuel’s compliance personnel,” according to the complaint.

Patel, 31, is asking for $250 million in compensatory and punitive damages.

Patel pleaded guilty in March 2024 to wire fraud and illegal monetary transaction. He admitted to stealing $22,221,454.40 from the Jacksonville Jaguars over 3.5 years while he managed the team’s virtual credit card program.

Federal prosecutors claimed Patel used the money to live a luxury lifestyle. Patel gambled away most of the money he stole from his employer.

Another Patel lawyer, Alex King, said Patel received treatment for his gambling addiction and participated in Gamblers Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Patel founded Round Robin Recovery LLC to help others with gambling addictions.

The Jaguars fired Patel in February. He was sentenced to 6.5 years to be served at the Williamsburg federal prison in South Carolina.

In July, the Jaguars sued Patel in Florida state court, asking for $66.6 million in damages. ESPN previously reported that the Jaguars asked FanDuel to refund the $20 million in stolen gambling profits.

An Auburn, Alabama man is on immigration hold after he killed a Georgia doctor in a one-way car crash in Opelika, Alabama on Sept. 7.

Armin Rubido Gomez Lopez, an undocumented illegal, was arrested when he was released from Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Ga. on Sept. 30.

Piedmont is the same hospital system that employed Dr. Malcolm Goodchild. The prominent Columbus, Ga. surgeon was killed when Gomez’s Toyota 4Runner collided with his Tesla on the northbound exit ramp at Exit 62 on I-85 in Opelika.

The impact was so severe that the Tesla caught fire, according to WRBL Columbus.

Dr. Goodchild, 50, was airlifted to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Dr. Goodchild’s wife, a passenger in the Tesla, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released from the hospital.

Gomez was previously convicted in Lee County for drunk driving. Despite being in the country illegally, Gomez had a driver’s license.

Gomez is being held without bond at the Lee County Detention Center in Opelika, where he is on an immigration hold.

His public defender requested an Aniah’s Law hearing to determine if he could be freed on bond. But due to the serious nature of the charges, his bond was denied on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

Aniah’s law was named after 19-year-old Aniah Blanchard who was killed after being abducted from an Auburn, Alabama gas station. The suspect was free on bond in an earlier kidnapping case.

Dr. Goodchild graduated in 2006 from the The Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies. He completed his surgical residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York.
