Island Records president of Urban music Jermaine Dupri posted a video on his YouTube channel of himself undergoing LASIK eye surgery recently.
This is a procedure that I’ve wanted to have done for many years, but after watching JD’s cornea being peeled like an orange, I think I’ll pass.
JD didn’t make it to his regular Saturday night gig on Atlanta’s V-103 radio station tonight. So we’re hoping he’s OK. This video isn’t easy to watch if you’re the squeamish type. By the way, JD forgot his wallet and his girlfriend, Janet Jackson, had to leave rehearsals to put his surgery on her credit card.
SOHH Gyant was on hand at the Gotta Dance Atlanta studio today to grab footage of Ciara‘s open call for backup dancers.
A few of the hopefuls who got call backs said the audition was “brutal” due to the huge turnout. I heard Ciara kicked a bunch of idiots out for ridiculing other dancers who they thought weren’t on their level. I told y’all to leave that stank attitude at home because Ciara wasn’t playing that! Lol.
I’m told Ciara didn’t allow photos of herself until she heard my photographer was in the house – then it was all good! That’s why we love Ciara at Sandrarose.com! I can’t wait to see the pics. 🙂

If an individual can jump the shark, Janet Jackson does it in this video spoof of a child’s Sweet 16 party. I have no words for this video. The old Janet Jackson never would have lowered herself to this level for publicity. But she does have a Cd to push. The good news is MTV has apparently lifted the unspoken ban against Janet. The network named Janet artist of the week starting February 25th. Good for her!
TMZ.com reports that Ne-Yo was busted for driving reckless in Cobb County, Georgia.
“TMZ has learned that R & B singer Ne-Yo, aka Shaffer Smith, was popped on Feb. 19 while driving through Cobb County, Georgia. That’s so sick!
Cops pulled Ne-Yo after they observed him driving well over 100 mph in his 2006 Range Rover. He was arrested for reckless driving and for not having a valid license.
Maybe he was rushing to the Hair Club for Men. WTF’s up with that receding hairline? So that’s why he wears hats all the time!”
Those words are TMZ’s – not mine. You know how ghetto they can be over there. I like Ne-Yo. He’s very pleasant to deal with as far as celebs go. Ne-Yo wasn’t driving reckless last night when he entertained thousands as part of V-103’s concert at Dreamz.
The scene at the Gotta Dance Atlanta studio for Ciara‘s open auditions is controlled mayhem at this hour. Ciara isn’t even in the building yet, but there are 300 dance hopefuls inside and equally as many teenagers queued up outside waiting to get their chance to show Ciara what they can do.
Ci Ci is holding open dance auditions for “raw, fresh” dancers in 4 major cities beginning in Atlanta today and ending in LA on Mar 16. Of course. I’ll have pics from the auditions today, so check back later.

Janet Jackson graces two covers of Vibe magazine this month – just in time for the February 26 release date of her CD Discipline. No disrespect to Vibe‘s art department, but these covers are horrible. Janet looks great on both covers though. I’m not feeling the ‘Off the Wall’ cover at all.

Are you the hottest dancer in Atlanta? Do you know all the steps to Crank Dat Batman or the Bankhead Bounce? Well, Ciara wants to see you today for her dance auditions at the Gotta Dance Atlanta studio, 1778 Ellsworth Industrial Dr NW, from 11-6 PM.
Ci Ci is looking for dancers to take on the road with her. We’re not sure what she did with her regular dancers. But we suspect they will be going on the road with her after all is said and done. Rumor has it a camera crew will be on hand to film the auditions for a possible realty series. So make sure your weave is tight.
Oh, and leave your attitude at home because we’re told Ci Ci isn’t having that.
Auditions begin at 11 AM but there’s no telling when Ci Ci will arrive. So get there early!
Looks like those trips to the fertility doctor has paid off again, Jennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony welcomed twins – a girl and a boy – early this morning in a Long Island, NJ hospital. No names have been released yet. The new mommy is doing well. (Source)

Okay, all jokes aside. I watched the debate last night and while I believe Senator Barack Obama held his own, Senator Hillary Clinton came out the clear winner of last night’s debate.
As expected, the two presidential candidates sparred on the issue of health care with Clinton accusing Obama of leaving 15 million U.S. residents uncovered with his plan. While Obama pointed out that Clinton had her chance to reform health care while she ran the White House as her husband’s unofficial vice president.
Clinton’s plagiarism jab at Obama, “change you can Xerox” – drew loud boos, but Obama’s response drew the loudest cheers of the night: “What we shouldn’t be spending time doing is tearing each other down. We should be spending time lifting the country up,” he said.
Obama has won 11 straight primaries and caucuses, and he also picked up 2 big union endorsements this week. One thing is for sure, the good ol’ boy network does not want another Clinton in the White House, and Obama certainly seems like the safer choice for democratic nomination.
Meanwhile, also on the political front, Republican presidential candidate John McCain emphatically denied a New York Times report that he is bedding a female telecommunications lobbyist. “I’m very disappointed in the article. It’s not true,” McCain said as his wife, Cindy, stood glaring at him during a news conference.
