Jason Whitlock says Black moms should raise their sons to be men of God – not their husbands

Jason Whitlock had the Internet on fire on Monday. The outspoken sports journalist called out Black mothers who pursue “husband-like relationships with their sons.”

In an episode of his “Fearless” podcast, Whitlock said Black boys “are raised to serve their mothers as a deity (a goddess).”

He said “We’re not here to serve our mothers” and that “pursuit of serving our mothers is what has feminized our culture.”

He was careful to say he’s not putting down anyone’s mom. Whitlock said Black mothers should not pursue “husband-like relationships with their sons”. They should raise their sons to be men of God.

He said Black women hatched a plot to have a male baby and make him her husband and make him serve her for the rest of his life.

He added that boys “dream and fantasize things they should fantasize about God and Jesus Christ.”

“For many women this is difficult to hear,” Whitlock said, adding that women listen to ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith and hope their sons talk about them that way. “When what they should be saying is ‘I hope my son talks about Jesus Christ that way.'”

He said if women raise their sons to be in service to Jesus Christ, their sons will treat them properly.

Some of Whitlock’s followers agreed. One X/Twitter user said women “need to get married either with their son’s father or by another man before the age of 7, or let their son be with their father.”

Another X user wrote: “Black boys are raised to serve their mothers because the majority of black Dads aren’t around.”

But a third person commented: “It’s always the guy with no family telling families how to raise their kids… kids he doesn’t have.”

Ray J performed with fake blood running down his face

Ray J shocked fans when he performed a Valentine’s Day concert with fake blood dripping down his face in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Cell phone video shows the “One Wish” singer coming out onstage with fake blood dripping down his face. He also opened his orange prison jumpsuit to show a small Zio patch cardiac monitor stuck to his chest.

The tiny device sticks on the skin with adhesive. It monitors the heart for arrhythmias and rapid or slow heartbeats.

It is not a portable defibrillator, it’s a diagnostic tool to help his doctor determine whether he has a heart problem.

As for the “blood” streaming down his face – that’s just food dye or food coloring.

Ray J’s latest stunt happened nearly a month after he claimed he was in heart failure and his heart was only pumping at 25% functional capacity.

“My heart is only beating like 25 percent, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, then everything will be all right, so thank you for all your prayers,” he said in a livestream video.

He also claimed he only had “months” to live after he was hospitalized with a “severe case of pneumonia” in January.

“2027 is definitely a wrap for me,” the singer/actor said in a video clip on January 25.

But fans called him out on his stunt. They noted that his signs and symptoms didn’t match the words coming out of his mouth.

A patient who is in heart failure would not have the physical or respiratory capacity to perform on stage every night.

The 45-year-old streamer is known to exaggerate and has a history of publicity stunts for attention.

Rapper Nicki Minaj celebrated Presidents’ Day with AI-generated photos of President Donald Trump.

One AI photo shows Nicki counting a stack of cash while a hip-looking Trump sits in the passenger seat of a convertible sports car.

Both Trump and Nicki wear pink – Nicki’s favorite color – and they’re both decked out in diamond and platinum bling jewelry.

Another photo shows Trump making the peace sign while Nicki looks at the camera. She originally posted the images on her private Instagram Stories. The page is not accessible to the public after fans dragged her for appearing at Erika Kirk’s TPUSA event in December.

Nicki supports Trump and the conservative movement because they value traditional marriage, God, family and the right to bear arms.

Nicki attended a Treasury Department event promoting new $1,000 investment accounts for children on Jan. 28.

She referred to herself as Trump’s biggest fan. Trump rewarded Nicki by gifting her with a free Trump Gold Visa Card and a fast path to citizenship.

The Trump Gold Card normally costs $1 million with a nonrefundable $15,000 processing fee for foreigners looking for a fast-track to U.S. citizenship.

“It actually motivates me to support him more, and it’s gonna motivate all of us to support him more,” she said in January.

“We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him and, you know, the smear campaigns, it’s not going to work.”

Update: The ex-wife of the gunman who fatally shot her and their son at a hockey game cited “gender reassignment surgery” as her reason for the divorce.

The incident happened on Monday, Feb. 16, during a high school boys’ ice hockey game at the Dennis M. Lynch Arena in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

The shooter was identified as R. Dorgan, a transgender who goes by the name “Roberta Esposito,” according to reports.

Dorgan’s ex-wife, Rhonda Dorgan, filed for divorce in 2020, citing his mental instability and his “gender reassignment surgery,” according to court filings obtained by WPRI.

She later amended the reason for divorce as “irreconcilable differences which have caused the immediate breakdown of the marriage.”

Dorgan fatally shot Rhonda and their eldest son, Aiden, who was set to be married soon. Their youngest son was on the ice playing for the Bruins when the shooting occurred. He was not harmed.

Before killing himself, Dorgan also shot Rhonda’s parents – who are in critical condition at a hospital. A third wounded person, described as a family friend, is listed in critical condition.

A video livestream of the game captured the shooting in the bleachers.

Loud pops are heard in the video as hockey players ducked down before hopping over the boards and fleeing across the ice. The referee blew his whistle to stop the game and skated off the ice.

The bleachers cleared as frightened parents and students rushed toward the exits.

A Good Samaritan stepped in to stop the shooting “and that’s probably what led to a swift end of this tragic event,” Pawtucket Police Chief Tina Goncalves said on Monday evening.

Local outlet WPRI reported that the father of a North Providence High School senior shot his wife and children. In total, five family members were shot. A woman told WCVB-TV that the suspected shooter was her father.

FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on X that FBI Boston was assisting local police. “We will provide state and local law enforcement any and all resources necessary and keep the public updated as we are able. In the meantime please pray for the victims and their families.”

NBA icon Michael Jordan is facing a social media firestorm after viral video showed him touching a child inappropriately at the Daytona 500.

The incident happened after Jordan’s NASCAR team, 23XI Racing, celebrated its first Daytona 500 victory on Sunday, Feb. 15, at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.

A live network feed shows Jordan inappropriately grabbing a young boy’s buttocks and rubbing the back of his thigh.

The child reached back to stop Jordan from touching him inappropriately.

The boy was later identified as Beau Reddick, the 6-year-old son of winning driver Tyler Reddick.

With all the controversy surrounding the Epstein files, the video is not a good look for the NBA legend (Jordan is not named in the files).

The video is so disturbing that many viewers initially believed it was AI-generated.

The video below contains scenes that may be disturbing to some viewers.

Many observers say the boy looked “uncomfortable” when Jordan repeatedly touched his rear and rubbed his leg.

Photo say no to unwanted touching

There are many guidelines online and in schools to help parents teach their children to say no to unwanted touching.

Fans say Jordan should never touch a child’s buttocks even in a playful way. They wondered how he would react if another man touched one of Jordan’s twin daughters that way.

Former Jordan fans took to social media to voice their concerns over the video and to protest the NBA Hall of Famer.

A former fan discarded his expensive pair of retro Air Jordan sneakers after Jordan’s video went viral.

Jordan, who celebrates his 63rd birthday today, has not publicly commented on the escalating controversy.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson, who led the civil rights movement after Martin Luther King, Jr’s assassination, died Tuesday at age 84.

Santita Jackson confirmed that her father died at home in Chicago, surrounded by family members.

“Our father was a servant leader — not only to our family, but to the oppressed, the voiceless, and the overlooked around the world,” Santita said in a statement. “We shared him with the world, and in return, the world became part of our extended family.”

There will be a public viewing and commemorations will be held in Chicago, where Jackson established an office for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC).

Jackson was born in Greenville, South Carolina and later moved to Illinois, where he attended the predominantly white University of Illinois on a football scholarship.

While visiting home for Christmas break during his freshman year, Jackson tried to borrow a book from the public library but he couldn’t because the library was white-only.

He staged a library sit-in with seven other students and they were arrested for protesting.

Jackson transferred to North Carolina A&T, an HBCU, because the University of Illinois wouldn’t let him play quarterback.

At A&T, Jackson played quarterback and was elected student body president.

He attended Chicago Theological Seminary on a scholarship, but he dropped out to lead the civil rights movement.

He was awarded a Master of Divinity degree by Chicago Theological Seminary in 2000.

In 1965, Jackson participated in the Selma to Montgomery marches. Martin Luther King, Jr was impressed by his leadership abilities, and he gave Jackson a role in the SCLC.

In 1967, Jackson was promoted to national director of the SCLC. He began to organize massive boycotts to pressure white-owned businesses to hire Black people and to purchase goods and services from Black-owned businesses.

When MLK was shot on April 4, 1968 at the Lorraine motel in Memphis, Jackson was in the parking lot below. He quickly ran upstairs to King’s side. Jackson was the last person to speak to King, who died in his arms.

After King’s assassination, Jackson led many boycotts and crusades in the United States and abroad. He advocated for the poor and underprivileged and he ran for president twice.

Current President Donald Trump donated to Jackson’s campaign for president.

Jackson met with world leaders, and launched his Rainbow/PUSH Coalition (People United to Save Humanity).

In 1972, Jackson organized the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition’s Save the Children Expo concert, held in Chicago. A concert film was released in movie theaters. The concert featured Marvin Gaye, The Jackson 5, Roberta Flack, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Bill Withers, Curtis Mayfield, Quincy Jones, and more.

The concert film was lost for 50 years until Rev. Jackson restored the film in 2021 and it debuted to a new generation of viewers in 2024 at the Chicago International Film Festival. Netflix streamed the concert film the next day.

On November 12, 2025, Jackson was hospitalized in Chicago after experiencing respiratory problems. He was hospitalized again the following day at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).

On November 17, he was transferred out of Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s intensive care unit, and released from Northwestern Memorial Hospital on November 24.

On December 22, Jackson was discharged home from an acute nursing facility in stable condition. He was confined to a wheelchair.

Daughter of Beyoncé’s longtime stage manager says he was fired

Mairi Cooley, daughter of Beyoncé‘s longtime stage manager Terry Cooley, says her dad was fired after 20+ years of service.

In an emotional TikTok video, Mairi said Terry was let go after slavishly working for Beyoncé as stage manager and production manager for over 20 years.

When COVID happened, there were no tours and Terry was paid sporadically. He had to drain his savings to pay the family’s bills. Terry sold the family home and moved his family in with his mother.

Mairi said her father worked 22-hour days while touring with Beyoncé.

Terry worked with Beyoncé since she was a member of Destiny’s Child. But she fired him after he collapsed and underwent surgery. “They decided that he couldn’t keep up,” Mairi said.

“Here we are in 2026, and my dad has been out of work for a few years,” Mairi said while fighting back tears. “I worry about my dad because he put his heart and his soul into Beyoncé’s career,” she continued.

“They cut him loose and fired him after 20-something years of service. After he gave his health and his body to helping her succeed.”

Mairi said her father didn’t receive a severance or even a get-well card from the pop singer.

“Where we’re at now is my dad is suffering financially and he’s suffering emotionally,” she explained, adding that he’s in “a terrible place.”

She urged her followers to “tag Beyoncé and ask her to make things right” and “maybe apologize for disregarding the career that they had.”

Mairi’s followers were empathetic. One TikTok user wrote: “Tell him to write a book called behind the stage or something like that.”

Another TikTok user wrote: “Beyoncé is a business. They should have retirement packages for employees like him.”

A third person commented: “She might not be at fault for his injury but after 20+ years of working together, can she not support someone in a tough spot out of loyalty? like a billionaire, hello?”

But others said Beyoncé doesn’t owe Terry anything.

One person wrote: “you walk away with what you earn. That’s the downside of passion, and unfortunately it’s the risk you take when you work outside of the traditional business structure.”

Legendary actor and filmmaker Robert Duvall died on Sunday, Feb. 15, at age 95. His wife, Luciana, announced his death in a Facebook post.

“Yesterday we said goodbye to my beloved husband, cherished friend, and one of the greatest actors of our time. Bob passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love and comfort,” she wrote.

Luciana Duvall continued:

“To the world, he was an Academy Award-winning actor, a director, a storyteller. To me, he was simply everything. His passion for his craft was matched only by his deep love for characters, a great meal, and holding court. For each of his many roles, Bob gave everything to his characters and to the truth of the human spirit they represented. In doing so, he leaves something lasting and unforgettable to us all. Thank you for the years of support you showed Bob and for giving us this time and privacy to celebrate the memories he leaves behind.”

Duvall is best known for his role as Don Vito Corleone’s legal advisor Tom Hagan in The Godfather (1972) and The Godfather Part II (1974). He was nominated for an Oscar for “The Godfather.”

Sway gifted Porsha with a red Hermès Birkin handbag and Tory Burch, while Porsha gave Sway an iced out watch.

Porsha went public with her gay for pay lesbian relationship in October of last year.

Fans were skeptical of Porsha’s true intentions. Body language experts note that Porsha looks “off” in their photos. But Sway seems to be all in.

They’ve been seen filming episodes for Season 17 of Real Housewives of Atlanta.

In October, Porsha confirmed she is dating “a man and a woman.” In a video clip, she introduced Sway to her Real Housewives of Atlanta co-stars Phaedra Parks and Angela Oakley while filming scenes for the upcoming season.
