Former CNN anchor Don Lemon was taken into federal custody on Thursday night in Los Angeles. He was there to cover the Grammy Awards.

His attorney, Abbe Lowell, confirmed Lemon was arrested by the feds for storming a church with other anti-ICE protesters in Minneapolis.

Minneapolis activists Nekima Levy Armstrong, Chauntyll Louisa Allen and William Kelly were previously arrested for organizing the protest.

Lowell said Lemon’s arrest violated his first amendment rights as a reporter.

Lemon previously said he didn’t have advanced knowledge of the protesters’ plans when they stormed the Cities Church, harassed worshipers, and made children cry.

“Don has been a journalist for 30 years, and his constitutionally protected work in Minneapolis was no different than what he has always done,” Lowell wrote in a press release.

In his statement, Lowell said the first amendment protects journalists “whose role it is to shine light on the truth and hold those in power accountable.”

Lemon and Minneapolis activists protested ICE agents who killed activist Renee Good, a 37-year-old mother of three.

A Minnesota judge blocked the Department of Justice from arresting Lemon in that state. But a judge in California signed the arrest warrant when Lemon flew there to cover the Grammys.

In a TikTok video last week, the highly emotional podcaster called rapper Nicki Minaj “homophobic” after she criticized him for storming the church.

She called him “a thug” and a “c*** sucker,” which sent him into a rage.

“I usually don’t respond to this stuff, but let me just say this. Nicki Minaj, stop talking about s–t which you know nothing about. This is out of your depth, by the way. And you are a homophobic bigot,” he said.

“You don’t care about African Americans, you’re not an African American. From what I know, you are reportedly an undocumented citizen, so you should be deported under Donald Trump’s rule.”

He continued: “Nicki Minaj, get a life, stop being a pick-me. You are a pick-me. And I choose not to pick you, and so should Black people, and so should gay people, shouldn’t buy your music. Clock that.”

Nicki called herself “Trump’s number one fan” at the Treasury Department’s Trump Accounts Summit on January 28.

Stars and other Hollywood figures have distanced themselves from the “Barbie Tingz” rapper.

Pop singers Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande and British singer Charli XCX unfollowed Nicki on X (Twitter).

Retired rapper-turned-podcaster Joe Budden said he no longer associates with Nicki. He described her political affiliation with Trump as a breaking point.

Others, such as Ruby Rose and actress Yvette Nicole Brown, have publicly criticized Nicki.

The Minneapolis man who squirted U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar with apple cider vinegar has been charged with federal offenses.

Anthony Kazmierczak is pictured above with his Somali girlfriend.

Kazmierczak, 55, was charged with assault after he sprayed Omar with apple cider vinegar from a syringe during her town hall meeting in Minneapolis on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

The incident happened when Omar called for defunding ICE after federal agents killed 2 protesters in Minneapolis.

“ICE cannot be reformed,” Omar said, seconds before Kazmierczak rushed forward and sprayed her with a substance from a syringe.

Investigators say Kazmierczak has a history of criminal offenses, including DUI charges.

His ex-wife, Patrice Benoit, spoke out to distance herself from Kazmierczak.

Speaking exclusively to Newsweek, Benoit offered her sympathy to Omar and other victims.

“I was married briefly to Anthony Kazmierczak, and we divorced in March 2017. Our relationship ended at that time, nearly nine years ago,” she stated.

“I am heartbroken to hear of the attack on llhan Omar and wish peace, strength, and healing to everyone affected, including Ilhan’s family and community and Anthony’s family.”

Some social media users say the incident was “staged” or “fake news.” Omar trended on X (Twitter) late Tuesday under the hashtag #Fakenews.

“Something about this doesn’t add up,” said conservative comedian Terrence J. Williams in a video uploaded to X on Tuesday.

“If someone randomly sprayed me with a substance, I’d be running to the nearest bathroom to wash my eyes and skin — or straight to the hospital,” he added.

Omar is a U.S. citizen who fled Somalia with her family at age 8 to escape a civil war.

Nicki Minaj is the proud recipient of a gold Trump card that allows wealthy immigrants to fast-track their path to U.S. citizenship.

Nicki, who is from Trinidad and Tobago, was gifted a gold Trump card “free of charge” after she spoke at a Treasury Department event promoting Trump’s $1,000 savings accounts for babies on Wednesday, Jan. 28.

The gold Trump card is usually reserved for wealthy foreigners who contribute at least $1 million to the U.S. government.

Nicki didn’t pay $1 million for her immigration gold card. But she offered to donate $150,000 into Trump savings accounts for the children of her fans.

Nicki posted a photo of her gold Trump card on her X (Twitter) account on Wednesday night. She captioned the post: “Welp.”

The gold visa card is emblazoned with Trump’s face on the front and the words “GOLD TRUMP CARD” with the president’s signature.

In a follow up post, the rapper wrote: “Finalizing that citizenship paperwork as we speak as per MY wonderful, gracious, charming President.” and “Gold Trump card free of charge.”

On Wednesday, Trump called Nicki to the stage and kissed her on the cheek. She held his hand and urged her fans to defend him against political attacks.

While addressing the room, Nicki called herself “the president’s number one fan and that’s not going to change.”

Bank of America announced it will match $1,000 of each government deposit into Trump’s savings accounts for babies born between 2025 and 2028.

Visa announced a new program that will allow cardholders to deposit their credit card rewards directly into Trump Accounts.

The Trump Accounts program will begin distributing funds to children next summer.

The money can be used to invest in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, which will likely be worth over $1 million per coin by the time the children reach age 18.

“Breaking Bad” actor Giancarlo Esposito called for “a revolution” in Washington, D.C. after ICE agents killed 2 protesters in Minneapolis.

“We have to stand up to it. They can’t take us all down,” he told Variety at the Sundance Film Festival premiere of his new crime thriller “The Only Living Pickpocket in New York.”

Esposito said that if the world showed up in Washington, D.C., “they’d kill 500 or 50 million or however [many], but the rest of us would survive with a new [world].”

Esposito, 67, blamed “very rich old white men” for the rioting in Minnesota.

“Some very rich old white men are exerting their power to suppress our own people, thus creating a feeling of civil war in the streets, preparing the haters to hate, teaching them how to shoot,” he said.

“This is all a preparation for a very insidious problem that’s happening in our world. And for me, I have to speak out. We will not be ICE’d out. This is not going to happen.”

The “Do the Right Thing” actor was among the stars wearing “ICE Out” pins at the Sundance Film Festival.

Celebrities also wore “ICE Out” pins at the Golden Globes, as well as pins that said “Be Good,” a reference to Renee Good, the 37-year-old mother who was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis.

Actress Kerry Washington called for defunding ICE and The Department of Homeland Security.

In a livestream video, Kerry said, “Hi my name is Kerry Washington and I’m a constituent from Los Angeles. ICE murdered our neighbors in Minneapolis and is terrorizing communities.”

She called for her Senator to stop ICE from deporting illegals. “These people need to hear from us, because they work for us. We pay their salaries with our tax dollars. So let’s f-king go!”

Coco Gauff is still making headlines days after her behind-the-scenes crash out following her quarter-finals loss at the Australian Open.

Coco, the No. 3 seed, served 5 double-faults and lost 6-1, 6-2 to 12th-seeded Elina Svitolina in the 59-minute match.

The 21-year-old tennis champ held her composure until after she entered the tunnel leading to the locker rooms.

She was caught on CCTV smashing her tennis racquet repeatedly on the floor in a hallway.

Coco called for privacy for tennis players who vent their frustrations in player areas.

Tennis players and fans weighed in on the incident online.

“Passion. Caring. Matters. Nothing wrong with hating to lose. Now Coco when you want I can show you how to demolish in one swipe… Serena style,” the 23-time Grand Slam champion wrote on X (Twitter).

Serena’s husband, Alexis Ohanian, also defended the Atlanta-born tennis star.

Alexis wrote: “[Not gonna lie] I love this energy and emotion from @CocoGauff… Media are gonna spin this private moment for a headline to get some clicks, but Coco did nothing wrong here.”

The World Tennis Association (WTA) defended Coco in a statement addressing her privacy concerns.

“The WTA stands with our players and takes their concerns about privacy and cameras at the Australian Open seriously,” said WTA chair Valerie Camillo.

“Recent concerns raised by WTA players at the Australian Open about cameras in off-court player areas are completely valid. This is a very human and fair request – athletes need spaces where they can recover and not feel constantly under scrutiny. Providing that space is part of our responsibility as a sport. The WTA is committed to listening to its players and acting on concerns like this.”

Federal prosecutors claim jailed rapper Lil Durk placed a $1 million bounty on rapper Quando Rondo’s head following the shooting death of King Von in Atlanta.

King Von, 26, was shot outside an Atlanta hookah lounge on November 6, 2020. Quando Rondo’s cousin, Lul Tim, pulled the trigger while King Von and Quando Rondo fought each other.

The shooting was caught on the club’s surveillance camera.

After the shooting, Lil Durk’s fans pleaded with him to “slide for King Von,” which is slang for getting revenge on his killers.

Prosecutors spoke with a confidential informant who said Durk recruited Chicago gangbangers with a promise of $1 million if they carried out the hit on Quando Rondo.

The hitmen flew from Chicago to Los Angeles, where they stalked Quando Rondo around the city.

They eventually ambushed Quando Rondo and shot into his car at a gas station across from the Beverly Center. But they missed Quando and fatally shot his close friend Lul Pab.

The feds submitted text messages from Durk telling gang members if any of them killed Rondo they would be “made straight.”

A cooperating government witness will testify that this language was understood to mean a price on Rondo’s head.

Despite killing the wrong person, Durk rewarded the hitmen with cash, jewelry, custom dental grills, appearances in his music videos, and mentions in his lyrics about Lul Pab’s death, according to court documents.

Lil Durk has been locked up in L.A. since his arrest in October 2024. His lawyers asked prosecutors to provide more details about their case.

Durk’s criminal trial was pushed back to late April 2026. He pleaded not guilty.
