Atlanta police say a man was fatally shot near a recording studio owned by Grammy Award-winning rapper Tip “T.I.” Harris.

Police heard gunshots fired in the area of Deering Road NW and Northside Drive NW around 3:17 a.m. Saturday.

They were flagged down near 588 Trabert Avenue NW – the address of T.I.’s Super Sound Studio.

Officers found a man suffering from a single gunshot wound. The man was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. He later died from his injuries.

Police did not release the man’s name or age. No suspect was in custody as of Saturday morning.

The news comes after T.I. made a $50,000 donation to Morris Brown College to help finance the HBCU’s rebuilding efforts.

Morris Brown College announced it has secured nearly $1 million in new funding through a combination of private and public support, including contributions from T.I., a local church, and the federal government.

Approximately $700,000 of the $1 million total comes from a grant sponsored by U.S. Representative Nikema Williams.

An additional $60,000 was contributed by the Sixth District of the AME Church.

“As Morris Brown continues its resurgence, we are most appreciative of philanthropic support and will continue to be good ground for people to pour into,” said Morris Brown College President Dr. Kevin James.

Former CNN anchor Don Lemon was released from custody in Los Angeles following his arrest for disrupting a church service in St. Paul, Minnesota on Jan. 18.

The Department of Justice arrested Lemon and three other Black journalists – Georgia Fort, Trahern Jeen Crews and Jamael Lydell Lundy on federal charges.

Fox News reports, Lemon was escorted into the courtroom without shackles. He wore the same tan jacket and trousers that he wore to a pre-Grammys party on Thursday.

His husband and Democratic Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass was there to show support.

A federal indictment unsealed in court on Friday shows Lemon is charged with 2 felonies for conspiring to violate religious freedom rights.

Attorney Abbe Lowell confirmed Lemon was arrested while in Los Angeles to cover the Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 1.

The Department of Justice accused Lemon of conspiring with others “to injure, oppress, threaten, and intimidate multiple persons, including the clergy, staff, and congregants of the Cities Church” in St. Paul.

Lemon, 59, stormed into the Cities Church with other anti-ICE protesters, harassing worshipers and making children cry.

The protesters allegedly believed one of the church’s pastors was an ICE agent.

In a post on X (Twitter) on Friday morning, Attorney General Pam Bondi said she ordered Lemon’s arrest “in connection with the coordinated attack on Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota.”

Jemele Hill, Jasmine Crockett, Bernice King and others expressed outrage on X, saying “The first amendment is under attack.”

Lemon could face up to a year in federal prison if convicted.

“Instead of investigating the federal agents who killed two peaceful Minnesota protesters, the Trump Justice Department is devoting its time, attention and resources to this arrest, and that is the real indictment of wrongdoing in this case,” attorney Lowell said in a statement. “This unprecedented attack on the First Amendment and transparent attempt to distract attention from the many crises facing this administration will not stand.”

“Don will fight these charges vigorously and thoroughly in court,” the attorney added.

Sources say the DOJ’s case against Lemon is already falling apart.

MS NOW reported that various DOJ prosecutors in both Minnesota and Los Angeles have refused to be involved in indicting Lemon.

Olympic sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson was arrested on Thursday for speeding over 100 mph and crossing lanes in traffic on SR 429 near Stoneybrook Parkway just outside Orlando, Florida.

The Olympic gold medalist was pulled over for driving 104 mph, according to jail records. She was booked into the Orange County Jail at 7:39 p.m. local time on Thursday, the BBC reported.

She was released on a $500 bond on Thursday and has a Feb. 26 court date.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department tells PEOPLE that Richardson was “dangerously tailgating and traveling across lanes of traffic to pass other motorists.”

In police bodycam video, Sha’Carri pleads with the highway patrol officer, begging him not to arrest her.

Under a new “Super Speeder” statute in Florida – drivers can be fined up to $1,000, and mandated to appear in court.

The incident comes 6 months after Sha’Carri, 25, was arrested on domestic violence charges at the Seattle–Tacoma International Airport in Seattle on July 27, 2025. She was released on bond the next day.

Airport security footage showed Sha’Carri bumping into her boyfriend, fellow sprinter Christian Coleman as he attempted to walk away.

She also pushed Christian several times until he bumped into a column. But he refused to press charges against her.

President Trump reacted to a new video that shows Minneapolis activist Alex Pretti kicking and breaking the tail light on an ICE agent’s SUV days before he died.

In a post on his Truth Social app, Trump shared video of Pretti kicking an agent’s SUV and tussling with an agent.

Trump called the ICU nurse an “agitator and, perhaps, insurrectionist,” in his Truth Social post on Friday.

The president said that Pretti’s “stock has gone way down with the just released video of him screaming and spitting in the face of a very calm and under control ICE Officer, and then crazily kicking in a new and very expensive government vehicle, so hard and violent, in fact, that the taillight broke off in pieces.”

In the video, recorded on Jan. 13, Pretti is seen spitting on a federal agent and screaming at him. A gun is visible in his back pocket.

Senator Elizabeth Warren, who is superimposed over the video, describes Pretti as compassionate, calm, and patient.

Warren says, “Caring for people was at the core of who he was. He was incapable of causing harm.”

As Pretti kicked the departing SUV, Warren said, “Alex carried patience, compassion and calm as a steady light within him.”

The video shows Pretti breaking the tail light on the SUV, causing an agent to jump out of the vehicle and place him on the ground.

As Pretti struggled with the agent, Warren said, “Even at the very end, that light was there. I recognized his familiar stillness and signature calm composure.”

Pretti’s mother reportedly pleaded with him to stop stalking and antagonizing federal agents in the days leading up to his death.

Two Border Patrol agents who fired the shots that killed Pretti were suspended while the investigation continues.

Actress and comedienne Catherine O’Hara, best known for her roles in “Home Alone” and “Beetlejuice,” has died at age 71.

The Toronto native died at her home in Los Angeles “following a brief illness,” according to a statement from Creative Artists Agency.

O’Hara began her comedy career in 1974 as a cast member in the sketch comedy series Second City Television, for which she earned her first Primetime Emmy Award.

She gained acclaim for her acting in films such as After Hours (1985), Heartburn (1986), Beetlejuice (1988), Home Alone (1990) and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992).

She played the iconic Moira Rose in “Schitt’s Creek” (2015–2020), earning a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy.

O’Hara also acted in Netflix’s “A Series of Unfortunate Events” (2017–2018), the Apple TV+ comedy series “The Studio” (2025), and HBO’s “The Last of Us” (2025).

If you gave birth after Jan. 1, 2025, your baby could become a millionaire with a new $1,000 savings account created by the Trump administration.

The federal government will deposit $1,000 into “Trump Accounts” to be invested in the stock market.

“For the first time ever we’re going to give every newborn American child a financial stake in the future,” Trump said recently.

To qualify for the Trump Account, your baby must be a U.S. citizen born between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2028, and have a Social Security number.

Parents can open an account for their baby at a bank. Then the U.S. Treasury will contribute $1,000 into the account.

JPMorgan Chase, Intel, Bank of America and other corporations have pledged to match the government’s $1,000 deposit for each child.

Rapper Nicki Minaj (right) vowed to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars to support the children of her fans.

Erika Kirk’s Turning Point USA has also pledged to match the government’s deposits “dollar-for-dollar”.

Children won’t be able to access their savings accounts until they turn 18.

Page Six reports over 250 guests, including Akon and Nicki Minaj, attended the “Melania” after-party at Donald Trump Jr’s private members club, the Executive Branch.

The Senegalese singer shared a cryptic post on X (Twitter) featuring photos that show him wearing an orange prison jumpsuit. He captioned the post: “If you know, you know.”

Akon once considered running for president in 2020. He declined to endorse Donald Trump for president.

In November, the “Locked Up” singer was arrested in an Atlanta suburb on an outstanding warrant.

The pop star, whose real name is Aliaune Thiam, spent 6 hours in the DeKalb County Jail before being released.

The warrant stemmed from an incident in September when police discovered Akon was driving a Cybertruck with a suspended license.

A judge declared a mistrial in the federal RICO murder case of Houston drill rapper and gang leader OMB Bloodbath (born Alexandra Nicks) and her associate Shaquile O’Neal Richards.

Late Tuesday, jury members announced they were deadlocked after two days of deliberations, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Federal prosecutors must decide if they will retry the case or offer Nicks and Richards plea deals.

Nicks and Richards were indicted in 2023 on RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) charges for directing gang members to kill a gang rival.

Nicks and Richards are both accused of directing four gunmen to kill a member of a rival gang on Oct. 16, 2017. However, they missed the target and killed 53-year-old Sam Johnson, an innocent bystander.

A 22-year-old man, Walter Fields, was also wounded.

After the shooting, three of the gang members snatched a woman and her baby out of a Kia Sedona before fleeing in the stolen minivan.

Before her arrest, Nicks was an up-and-coming rapper with the potential to be a breakout hip-hop star. By 2020 she had signed a record deal with a label affiliated with Interscope Records.

Investigators reviewed jailhouse phone calls between the aspiring drill rapper and members of her “103 Gang” in the Harris County Jail.

In the phone calls, Nicks told another gang leader that she signed a deal with Interscope Records and she would pay the “youngins” to shoot at a rival gang member.

Three of the gunmen were found guilty of Johnson’s murder and sentenced.

Nicks and Richards both face life in prison if they are tried again. They remain in federal custody.

Shirley Raines, founder of Beauty 2 The Streetz and homeless advocate, was discovered deceased at her Las Vegas home on Tuesday, January 27. The nonprofit founder, known as “Ms. Shirley,” was 58.

Ms. Shirley’s youngest daughter, Danielle, called police to conduct a wellness check on Jan. 27 after she couldn’t get in contact with her mom.

Authorities found Ms. Shirley lying “unresponsive” next to her bed with “no visible signs” of foul play.

An autopsy was conducted to determine the cause of death.

Danielle told PEOPLE, “her life and her legacy is a testament to the fact that you don’t have to be perfect to do something powerful and meaningful.”

A GoFundMe raised over $215,000 for Beauty 2 The Streetz to continue its mission of feeding the homeless.

The mother-of-six was known for distributing food and hygiene products to homeless people living on Skid Row in Downtown Los Angeles, CA.

Ms. Shirley previously told PEOPLE she was inspired to help the homeless after her eldest son, Demetrius, overdosed on a relative’s medication just five days before his 3rd birthday on Sept. 6, 1990.

“We rushed to the hospital,” she recalled. “I tried to keep him awake on the drive. He kept wanting to go to sleep. I tried to make him walk into the hospital, but he just kept telling me how tired he was.”

She continued, “I just said, ‘I love you very much. Mommy is going to always love you,’ and he said he loved me, too. I walked him into the hospital, and I don’t remember a lot after that.”

A Florida couple is suing an Orlando fertility clinic for an alleged embryo mixup that resulted in the birth of a “non-Caucasian child.”

Tiffany Score and Steven Mills accused the Orlando fertility clinic IVF Life, Inc., and its head reproductive endocrinologist, Dr. Milton McNichol, for implanting another patient’s embryo in her uterus in April 2025, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

In 2020, Tiffany and Steven stored three viable embryos at the clinic for in-vitro fertilization (IVF) implantation at a later date.

Five years later, Dr. McNichol implanted one of the embryos in Tiffany’s uterus, and she gave birth to a “beautiful, healthy female child” on Dec. 11, 2025, according to the lawsuit, obtained by Law & Crime.

The new parents immediately knew there was a mixup since they are “Caucasian” and the baby “displayed the physical appearance of a racially non-Caucasian child,” the lawsuit said, according to the New York Post.

Genetic testing later confirmed their suspicions: the baby is not their biological child.

The couple’s attorney, John Scarola, said he sent the clinic a letter on Jan. 5, demanding it unite the baby “with her genetic parents” and explain what happened to his clients’ embryos.

Tiffany and Steven fear another woman may have been implanted with their embryo and could be pregnant or raising their child.

The lawsuit states the couple formed an “intensely strong emotional bond” with the unborn baby during the pregnancy and that their bond continues to grow.

“They have fallen in love with this child,” Scarola told the Orlando Sentinel.

Scarola said Tiffany and Steven feel a moral obligation to turn the child over to her rightful parents.

“They would be thrilled in the knowledge that they could raise this child. But their concern is that this is someone else’s child, and someone could show up at any time and claim the baby and take that baby away from them,” Scarola said.
