Back in the Day: Dana Elaine Owens

Photos: Splash News

Someone dug up Dana Elaine Owen’s old high school pics from back in the day before she became known as Queen Latifah. The Queen was a fearsome star basketball player at Irvington high school. Friend say she was very popular with the females both on and off the court.

Latifah was voted the most popular female pupil for more than just her basketball skills. Queen Latifah stars with Katie Holmes and Diane Keaton in the movie ‘Mad Money’.

Dang, I hate slow news/gossip days! There is nothing on any of the blogs I check out daily. Thanks for trying Sandra, but I really don’t care about Queen La in high school.

I think it’s interesting that Sandra put Queen’s old highschool picture up. The site doesn’t have to be about NEWS all the time. That’s what other blogs are for. They use the same retired news. We hear it here, we hear it at bossip and at other sites as well. Of course Sandra would stand out by putting up random photos of celebrities back in their heyday. We can diversify with other topics as well, sometimes…

I think ever since she played Cleo in Set It Off that will stick wit her for the rest of her life!! Like she said she had the balls to do it(lol) I love Queen since she first came out & demanded respect in the industry I still know the words to “Ladies First” She did her thing in the movies, she had her own talk show (what rapper can say that), plus she had Living Single which I still catch every now & then on Oxygen she has done it all & all people want to talk about is her sexual prefrence!! I have never seen her w/ a man but I never assumed she was gay. It’s 08 people who the hell cares anymore You Go Queen!!

I am going to lay it on the line. Some of her movies I like, but just like I didn’t waste my time or money watching Denzel Washington playing a gangster, I will not be going to see “Mad Money”. I am sick of these people regardless of what color they are getting paid to play a criminal. It’s worse then the creeps who play Soldiers in movies and get paid millions of Dollars, while the real ones that fight for our country gets peanut!
