Last night I was on the phone with another female blogger who asked me if I'd seen fellow blogger Necole Bitchie's new photos yet. I hadn't so I went to Necole's blog to see for myself.
Once on Necole's blog, I observed a header image photographed by Derek Blanks that depicted a surreal scene of two women.
It took me a moment to realize I was looking at two images of Necole. One image was decidedly lighter than the other. But both images were lighter than Necole appears in person.
Now I wouldn't be bringing this up at all if I hadn't noticed in the past that Necole, who is very beautiful in her brown skin, tends to take studio shots that render her 10 shades lighter than she actually is.
Just as it offended me when Michael Jackson transformed himself into a white woman, it offends me to see a beautiful black sistah erase her blackness deliberately.
