After reports indicated that several students were expelled from Oprah Winfrey's school in South Africa, The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy, for inappropriate behavior, the daytime diva is speaking out in a statement obtained by Entertainment Tonight.
In a statement, Oprah expresses her regret that as many as seven girls allegedly sexually harassed other students. A spokesperson for the school says students were told to leave for violating the code of conduct, but said it was "a confidential school matter."
"I'm disappointed that several of our students chose to disregard the school's rules. It's disheartening when any student has to be suspended or expelled and it's a process that involves serious review and consideration," Oprah says in the statement. "We insist on maintaining a campus environment that commands mutual respect, fosters academic excellence and encourages learners to fulfill their best potential."
She continues, "Indiscretions resulting in disciplinary action are common in schools all over the world. Unfortunately, because of my name these common infractions place the Academy in the media spotlight."
DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan – The commander of the Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility Tuesday for a deadly assault on a Pakistani police academy and said the group was planning a terrorist attack on the White House that would "amaze" the world.
"Soon we will launch an attack in Washington that will amaze everyone in the world," Mehsud told The Associated Press by phone. He provided no details.
Click the above link to scan your PC for the Internet worm and clean your PC if it's infected. Leaving your computer off all day tomorrow will not protect your PC from being affected if the worm is already inside.
As you've already heard by now, a giant Internet worm is set to be unleashed upon your computers tomorrow (April 1) -- and no, it isn't an April Fool's joke. Read more about the worm here.
The virus creators have gotten so smart that even the best anti-virus programs can't detect their handiwork any more. Last week it took me two days to clean out my system from a virus infection -- and I had the full suite of McAfee Anti-Virus tools running on my machine at the time.
After noticing my computer and Internet dragging, I ran 4 anti-virus tools before one of them finally detected 29 instances of the dreaded TDSSserv trojan in my registry. It then took me another two hours and two more programs to remove all traces of it from my PC.
I don't know anything about this worm that's supposed to be released on unsuspecting PC owners tomorrow. What I do know is I will no longer be surfing the Internet on my PC -- only on my Mac which is immune to virus and trojans.
When Bill Gates makes Windows virus-free like Apple then I'll go back to browsing the Internet on my PC.
The Obamas touched down in England a short time ago. In a sense, it's kind of good having the Obamas over in my native land if only it means we get a breather from Obama for a while.
I hope my fellow countrymen don't show the Obamas the same disrespect that they showed the Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his wife earlier this month. What's a worst gift to give a visiting dignitary than a pen and 25 DVDs?
I read somewhere that Obama's $300,000 limo was being flown to England for this trip. I hope they realize that in England the steering wheel is on the passenger side of the car and we drive on the left hand side of the street in England -- not on the right. It's very easy to forget what side of the road you're supposed to be on. And we don't want any presidential accidents on my home turf.
It's a good thing Barack Hussein Obama is out of the country: another one of his Democrat brethren is behind bars.
According to CNN, suspended Mobile County Circuit Judge Herman was arrested and charged with -- among other things -- spanking male inmates who were brought to his courtroom from a local jail.
Authorities are investigating allegations that now-suspended Mobile County Circuit Judge Herman Thomas periodically removed prisoners from Mobile County Metro Jail and spanked them in a room at the courthouse, according to courthouse sources involved in the inquiry.
Once inside the room, according to the sources, the judge would ask the young men to drop their pants and prepare to be spanked with what they described as a wooden or fraternity-like paddle.
Maybe there are no sexual undertones to these allegations. Maybe the judge is old school and decided to dispense his own brand of justice. Anyone older than 40 remembers being "paddled" in high school. There was nothing sexual about it -- and kids actually behaved in class.
Last week, rapper Young Jeezy was kept super busy grinding out two videos in 24 hours off his gold album The Recession. Jeezy shot two back-to-back videos for "Get A Lot" and "Don't You Know" at the Krog Studios in Atlanta. Word is, Def Jam's goal is to shoot a video for every track on Jeezy's album. Videos must be going for nothing these days. I remember the days when a single video would set a major label back an average of $1 million.
Thanks to Thad over at ExclusiveAccess.net for sending over these pics from the set. You might have seen Thad's photos with another blog's logo plastered all over them like they paid for the photos when they didn't. I wonder if bloggers know that when they do that they take food out of the photographer's mouth? What ever happened to common courtesy in blogging?

Actor Boris Kodjoe was spotted out & about in Atlanta last week at PURE nightclub without his wife Nicole. This is totally unrelated to PURE or his night out, but I did hear a disturbing story about Boris from a source who I consider credible. I actually wrote the story over the weekend. Due to the fact that I'm not a writer I had to rewrite it 3 times -- first I named him then I decided to make it a Blind Item. But in the end I scrapped the story altogether simply because there was no way for me to write it without hurting innocent people who don't deserve this type of drama. Plus I'm sure his wife already knows her hubby is a dog so what's the point? Photos by ATLPics.net

First Lady Michelle Obama is on her way to England at this hour. But before she left she wanted to make sure her loyal subjects know she is not pregnant. What took her so long to address the rumors we wonder?
Besides treadmill and weights, Michelle says, "I also do some jump rope, some kickboxing -- and I'd like to take up Pilates, if I could figure out whether there's time. After I had [daughter] Malia, I began to prioritize exercise because I realized that my happiness is tied to how I feel about myself. I want my girls to see a mother who takes care of herself, even if that means I have to get up at 4:30 so I can do a workout."
Nevertheless, rumors have spread that the first lady is expecting -- and she is just baffled.
"I was like, 'Baby bump'? As hard as I work on my abs?" she says. "Here's the scoop: Not pregnant. And not planning on it."
Investigators suspect two African immigrants slain at a Long Island condo owned by an NFL player may have been killed as revenge for an Internet scam, police said Tuesday.
Sekou Sakor and Ansu Keita were each shot in the head sometime Thursday night at a condominium in Woodbury, N.Y., owned by Jonathan Vilma. There were no arrests.
The New Orleans Saints linebacker and former New York Jets player was not there at the time and not believed to be involved, said New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne.
Browne said investigators believe the victims may have been mixed up in a so-called "black money" scheme. Victims are sent e-mails saying that cash smuggled from overseas — stained black to avoid detection — can be purchased at a discount; what they receive is a trunk full of worthless paper.
It was unclear how Sakor, 31, and Keita, 32, both originally from Liberia, ended up at Vilma's home. Sakor's body was found Friday dumped in Queens; that of Keita was found in Brooklyn.
Browne said various members of Vilma's family had access to the condominium, located in a gated development. It had been up for sale.
Vilma joined the Saints last season after four years with the Jets. He was the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2004.
His agent did not immediately return a call for comment on Tuesday

A lot of people don't know that Simon Gidewon (under Street Market Music) helped produce one of the hottest tracks on Young Jeezy's album, The Recession, titled "Everything" featuring Anthony Hamilton.

Simon Gidewon and DJ Infamous
Simon's birthday party was held at a secret location in Atlanta last week. His celeb friends turned out, including Jermaine Dupri (wearing a suit and tie), rapper Fabolous, DJ Infamous and producers Jazze Pha and N.E.R.D. The party was such a huge success that Simon's brother Alex Gidewon decided to continue the private party theme every Thursday night. The private "Secret Society" parties will provide a relaxing atmosphere where visiting celebrities, professional athletes and VIP's can party without the stress of encountering hordes of overzealous groupies or paparazzi. Only so-called "high maintenance" divas who know how to keep their traps shut will be allowed inside. Entry into the private Secret Society parties will require an exclusive "door key" or a personal invite from Alex, Simon or AG Entertainment.

When Barack Hussein Obama travels to Europe this week, he'll be accompanied by an entourge of 500 including 200 secret service personnel. Meanwhile, the First Lady Michelle Obama will travel a little lighter with only 8 assistants at her beck and call.
More than 500 officials and staff will accompany the president on his tour this week - along with a mass of high-tech security equipment, including the $300,000 presidential limousine, known as The Beast. Fitted with night-vision camera, reinforced steel plating, tear- gas cannon and oxygen tanks, the vehicle is the ultimate in heavy armoured transport.
In addition, a team from the White House kitchen will travel with the president to prepare his food. As one official put it: "When the president travels, the White House travels with him, right down to the car he drives, the water he drinks, the gasoline he uses, the food he eats. America is still the sole superpower and the president must have the ability to handle any crisis, anywhere, any time."
US security teams have already carried out three visits to prepare for Obama's first official visit to Britain. The first was a "site survey", the second a "pre-advance visit" which was carried out to pick sites that the president would visit. Finally there was the "advance trip", which took place last week. Its purpose was to set up equipment, sweep venues for electronic bugs, test food for poison and measure air quality for bacteria.
Obama will start his first presidential visit to Europe when he steps down from the US presidential jet, Air Force One, at Stansted airport on Tuesday. The Boeing 747-200B is fitted with its own gym, electronic defence units and shielding to protect its complex communication devices from radiation from nuclear blasts. Among the officials on the flight will be a military officer carrying America's nuclear missile launch codes.

I can't get into the social networking service Twitter. I have no interest in reading endless twits from self-indulgent individuals detailing what they had for breakfast. They should have named the service 'fritter' instead -- as in frittering away your mundane life online.
But loyal reader S.Joy keeps up with singer Solange Knowles on her Twitter. So she sent me this pic that Solo posted this morning of her boyfriend on Venice Beach. What I find weird -- besides the fact that the boyfriend seems very suspect -- is Solo strangely refers to the boyfriend as "he."
Now I realize today's young'ns have odd ways of expressing their mutual affection for each other, but I always thought objectifying your mate was a male thing? Like when males assign pet names to a woman's body parts. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised: Solo always did seem to have more testosterone pumping through her veins than her sister Beyonce -- though they both have bass in their voices and excessive body hair.
Anyway, Solo seems to be happy with "he". Unfortunately, I don't see this union lasting very long. A strong relationship requires two mature and responsible adults to make it work. And we already know that Solo is neither mature nor responsible.
More proof that Barack Obama and his treasury secretary Tim Geithner are in bed with AIG.
Two weeks ago Barack Obama stood before America and feigned outrage at AIG for doling out millions in bonuses to executives after accepting billions in federal aide. Later it was revealed that Obama and Geithner knew about the AIG bonuses even before blessing AIG with another $30 billion of your tax dollars last month.
Now, according to CNN: One of the people named to Obama's newly formed Task Force on Tax Reform is a member of the AIG board of directors. We're not exactly sure if Obama's task force will accomplish much of anything. But we are sure that more of your tax dollars will disappear into it.
If Barack Obama, aka George Bush II, gets his way, your laptop can be searched for illegally downloaded mp3s or movies the next time you pass through airport security. Even if you don't have illegally downloaded files on your machine, your hard drive can still be searched anyway. Is this the Change you were hoping for? This government sanctioned invasion of your privacy will add another one or two hours to the already lengthy security lines in airports. So make sure you get to the airport at least 4 hours prior to your departure time.
The Obama Administration is currently negotiating the ACTA Agreement with several international partners.
The proposed agreement would empower security officials at airports and other international borders to conduct random... searches of laptops, MP3 players, and cellular phones for illegally downloaded or "ripped" music and movies.
The BBC reports Madonna and her daughter Lourdes are in Malawi where Madonna hopes to adopt a 3-4 year old sister for her adopted son David. "Many people - especially our Malawian friends - say that David should have a Malawian brother or sister," said Madonna earlier this month. "It’s something I have been considering." Not to be outdone, the other celebrity serial adopters, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, have announced their intentions to adopt a child from India. The globe-hopping couple already have 3 adopted children in addition to their 3 biologicals.

As you know, rap artist T.I. was sentenced this morning to 366 days in federal prison. But the good news is he won't be required to report to prison until May 19 at the earliest. According to T.I., prior commitments prevented him from reporting earlier than May 19.
T.I.'s wifey Tiny was with him in the courtroom this morning. Tiny is said to be ecstatic that her man will be at home for at least two more months.
Here's new heat from Shad Moss, aka Bow Wow, featuring T.I., which is ample enough reason to bob our heads to it. I'm told T.I. wrote Bow Wow's lyrics. I can just hear Shad telling Tip, "make me sound hard, dawg."
Rap artist T.I. was officially sentenced to 366 days in federal prison today. Under federal rules, that extra day means T.I. will receive time off his sentence for good behavior plus time served while he awaited arraignment following his arrest on gun charges in 2007.
A federal judge approved a plea deal Friday that is expected to send Atlanta rapper T.I. to prison for a little less than 10 months for trying to buy machine guns and ammo from undercover agents in 2007.
U.S. District Court Judge Charles Pannell sentenced T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., to one year and one day under the negotiated plea. But the deal qualifies T.I. for credits likely to cut the sentence to about 298 days.
The 27-year-old rapper, clad in a dark suit, thanked the judge and prosecutors for giving him the chance to cut his prison time by speaking to youths about the pitfalls of crime, drugs and gangs. He has delivered that message to thousands in recent months.
“It means just as much to me to make you guys proud for what you have done as it does for me to make myself and my family proud,” he said at the sentencing hearing in downtown Atlanta.
“I’m a man of integrity. I’m a man of morals, of standards, of principle,” the entertainer said.
Pannell said he would not have approved the deal — which includes far less prison time than federal guidelines call for on the weapons charges involved — if U.S. Attorney David Nahmias had not recommended it.
“I think it’s been a good experiment,” the judge said. “I’ve come to resist the lockup mentality that we often find ourselves in… . maybe it will lead to similar experimental sentencings.”
Panell also told T.I. directly: “I congratulate you on the year of work you have done so far.” READ MORE...

When it comes to Beyonce, Edmontonians should perhaps consider themselves very lucky.
Lucky that the “bootylicious” superstar even decided to grace an Edmonton stage again after her last turn at Rexall Place in 2007 only drew a crowd of 7,800 people, but even luckier that Beyonce would actually launch her brand new tour supporting her latest album, I Am ... Sasha Fierce, in the City of Champions.
Whether it was a momentous occasion or just an opportunity to test out the show and work out the kinks in front of a “modest” audience — because, once again, only 8,000 fans turned out — will be left for those that attended to decide.
If Beyonce’s first outing on her I Am ... tour was no major disappointment, it was still a somewhat muddled affair, one that didn’t really clear up where the line between Beyonce and her supposed “alter ego” Sasha Fierce is drawn.

Socialites and reality TV personalities Kim and Khloe Kardashian were spotted out & about in West Hollywood last night. Speaking of Khloe, I saw Young Jeezy last Sunday night at the unofficial industry night at Twist. I say "unofficial" because the secret location changes every weekend. A who's who of industry elite gathered at Twist on Sunday night: Jeezy, NBA star Jalen Rose, socialite Eboni Elektra, her hubby Steppa and their son Ellington; Bunmi (the African Prince), Wole, owner of Moda 404, celebrity stylist Reno, Crystal Jones (original member of TLC), and just too many others to mention. Of course, wherever Jeezy goes you know the groupies will follow. At first it was just him and his boys eating and chilling. Then the groupie call went out from another table and a couple of hours later, all the birds flocked to Twist! Ha ha ha! Anyway, I took a picture of my good girlfriend next to Jeezy's Lambo with my cell phone. We acted like a couple of tourists! Photo: Wireimage/Getty
The fallout from the racially divisive Ciroc Vodka promo casting call continues. Blogger Brittany D. summed it up pretty well in this one sentence on her blog:
It makes me really sad to think that in this day and age light skinned women are still receiving preferential treatment in comparison to those having a darker complexion.
After reading the story and examining the original casting call for the upcoming Ciroc commercial video shoot, it indeed requests women who are: "White, Hispanic, or light skinned African American". This really struck me because P. Diddy, an insider, is essentially perpetuating and upholding common stereotypes traditionally deriving from an outsiders point of view.
In addition, it seems as if this behavior is acceptable because he is an "insider" of the African American culture. I could not help but ponder what the reaction may be had someone like Justin Timberlake, an outsider, posted a similar casting call for his next music video shoot. I only happened to stumble upon this casting call because I was skimming a popular celebrity news website. However, had the tables been turned, I feel fairly confident that Justin Timberlake's face would be posted on every news channel, and/or newspaper labeling him as a racist and a bigot. In my opinion, this discrepancy should not occur.
I think it is equally as concerning, problematic, and disheartening for P. Diddy to essentially encourage stereotypes and hierarchically categorize members of the African American Race. It makes me really sad to think that in this day and age light skinned women are still receiving preferential treatment in comparison to those having a darker complexion. Skin color is just that, a color.
It is certainly not determinant of one's level of attractiveness, ability, level of intelligence, etc. Overall, I just found several aspects of the insider/outsider debate existing within the restrictions placed upon this casting call and felt fairly discouraged to see that it was seemingly "okay" for this behavior to occur because P. Diddy is an insider. In my opinion, regardless of the ethnic orientation of one making these demands, it is unacceptable across the board.
Oh, and, to my friend Asare: I got your message, but I don't waste my time on twitter because like Trix, twittering is for kids.
