Here’s a new track by Jay Z that just leaked tonight. All that hype and all we get is the same nausea-inducing garbage that he always delivers. You know Jay Z never drops a track without a gimmick, right? So this time he’s declaring auto tune is dead.

I guess that means all his zombie followers will repeat after him and toss their Kanye West and T-Pain CDs out their car windows?

Yes i did turn it into N vs S becuz who brought the auto tune back… T-pain, where is T-pain from THE SOUTH, and as always up N rappers try to talk shyt about something the SOUTH is doing. IMO T Pain is one of the most overrated artist EVER. Auto tunes should’ve RIP w/Roger Troutman. Now as far as Jay, come on now love him or hate him his chit stays relevant. American Gangsta was DA SHIT and its still in my 6 changer right now. He was consistant and still is for a decade. How many rappers can do that? Give Jay his due cause he earned his stripes.

And here’s some minor “history”… Before Wayne became numero uno, he was out in NY rolling with Juelz Santana & the now defunct Diplomats. Some might even argue HEAVILYYY that he got his whole steez from Juelz & em and took it down there. But that’s whatever.

As far as Jay taking a swipe at T-Pain and (in your mind lol) taking a swipe at the south…you must have not heard the post-interview where he gives his props to T-Pain AND Wayne AND Kanye for using it. Well I am a midwest girl but that doesn’t mean I have to ride with Eminem, Ye, and Nelly (when he was hot) is holding it down better than anyone else and everywhere else is dead scenario. That’s not the way I support music but that’s me. Wayne is the best rapper alive right now and I don’t have any problem giving him that due. He’s my fav and has been for the last few years. I don’t think rap is dead but being a 80s baby and listening to rap of that era and the 90’s the chit out now from coast to coast is mediocore at best. That may have more to do with age and preference than anything else.

Daisy – when I say relevant I mean what someones audience wants to hear (good or bad) and that artists growth with his fanbase. IMO Jay has did that. I’ve only hated Blueprint 2 and Kingdome Come from his. Of course others will disagree.

My numbers don’t lie had nothing to do with the Wayne/Jay comparison but in general. I’ve mentioned my belief on this in a few other posts. There are good artist that don’t pull numbers but are way more talented than those who do. When Houston and ATL were doing their thing a few years ago with Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Chamillionaire etc.and Luda, Jeezy, and TI I liked their chit and it was undisputed that the South was the chit but at the same time NY will never die. Last time they counted NY out guess who comes out…the greatest that ever did it BIG!

Biggie is da shyt IMO because his flow and lyrics were the kind that you’d have to go “hold on, wtf did he just say, rewind that shyt again”. His freesyles and just lyrics in general are still in there with shyt mc’s are rapping about. He’s did in 2 CDs what rappers won’t do their entire career. You can’t listen to the entire Ready to Die or Life After Death and not rank this man one of the best and IMO the BEST.

Also, I’ve always believed that a large group of Pacs fanbase was more women who thought he was sexy and people that loved not his music but more his beliefs. I loved pre Death Row Pac but when he joined them and started that stupid beef chit I couldn’t stand his ass. Pac had good songs but BIG murders him.

I’m tripping on Jay-Z’s declaration of death to auto tune, when his wife so frequently uses it to correct her pitch. So if it’s dead for everyone else, Mrs. B. Carter can’t use it to cover her inaccuracies either, and she has them just like the next singer. Shyt – every recording session ain’t perfect. I like Jay, but he done stepped on a few toes nah.

Even if Jay is specifically going hard at the one’s who use auto tune to trick their vocals out (T-Pain, Kanye, Jamie Foxx, etc..), to kill it per se, would get rid of it altogether. When I tell y’all the music industry would crash and burrrrnnn?! Oh my! But…then again, there could be a rise in very competant vocalists if auto tune was gone. I’ve never had to use it to correct my pitch, and one of my favorite artists (Lalah Hathaway) despises it as well. You learn to appreciate the art & the special quality of raw vocals when you leave some of the mistakes there, plus have a good laugh at some of the unedited trinkets as a bonus.

Agree with a lot of people and disagree. The reason the south is on top right now is because of CEOs of labels. When something is hot they drown us in it till we hate it remember when West Coast was on top? I agree sales don’t mean shit Nasir (great rapper but can’t pick beats to save his life) doesn’t sell neither do Common, Mos Def, etc. Kids dominate sales and they follow peer pressure and buy what erryone says is hot. Every style of music has its Golden Age and sad to say raps was 80’s early 90s. I feel you Krysi on the dialect and slang being annoying thats how I feel bout most southern rap. But I would never say judge the music on accent or slang I judge the flow and beat etc. The only thing hot right now period is mixtapes. well you know that was what everybody used in Jay’s defense when I compared his sales to Waynes….so now that you have spoken on Nas being a better rapper than Jay, except Jay makes more money/ sells more records….I was just saying that I guess Numbers don’t equal talent like NY said. if you gonna compare numbers you compare the whole catalog and wayne doesnt halfway compare sure wayne sold a mill the first week thats nice eminem sold 2.4 million in a week and wayne biggest album is 3 million with selling a million the first week jay biggest album is 6 million sold. and i like wayne dont get me wrong but u cant only compare 1 week sales if you gonna compare numbers and wayne albums sold as a whole is half of jays.

Nas is not broke and at the end of the day Wayne sold a milli in a week and Jay HAS not! Simple as that we were talking numbers NOT catalogs and again plenty of non talent do numbers as well so I am not big on numbers of CDs sold to define an artist but wayne did takeover when he dropped that cd and he has a catalog a well. He aint an overnight success. I am not the biggest wayne or jay fan. They have both had HAWT and WACK songs..lol

naw this is you trying to take credit from Wayne yet again…even after you came up with the idea of Pac having all these albums against BIG having one and rivaling Pac as a GREAT…all I did was say the same for Wayne and his catalog compared to Jay Z’s….yes he has sold less, because he has only dropped 4 albums solo…Jay Z has how many…..yet Wayne is already considered the best rapper alive in a shorter amount of time….hint: Jay Z will be 40 this year babe, Wayne will be 27?? GOT it?? Yes he has been a rapper since age 12, but he was in a GROUP! It only took 3 albums solo for him to become a GREAT… he was already considered the BEst Rapper Alive after The Carter II, the dedication I & II mixtapes….the Carter III was just a bonus! Neither one of us could ever “win” You proved a good point with Wayne having less albums than Jay. I still don’t think it compares to being considered by many the GOAT after your ONE DEBUT album but apparently you do. So lets just agree to disagree. I hear ya, but the SOUTH didn’t diss NY, NY dissed the SOUTH…they didn’t think our craft was worthy of rap or HIP HOP…..Why would we diss NY, I mean we can go without coping their shyt silently (like we always have becuz truth be told the south pretty much lived off underground southern rap and Tupac, while NY was getting #1’s on billboard)….we would give them their props, give them their respect for being discovered in NY first as rappers and founding it there…and when they dropped, we simply didn’t buy that shyt. They have to talk about how HIP HOP is dead now, we’re so simple, country, ignorant, talentless…was hip hop dead when the West coast had Tupac, snoop, and Dre?? Was hip hop dead when Nelly nem took over…naw just when the south started making club music. NY disregarded every MC in the bottom..as if we don’t have Jeezy, Wayne, Tip, UGK, 8ball & MJG, Outkast, Luda…etc. We don’t classify NY as all “Chicken Noodle Soup” artist, but thats how they see the south. We have a variety of HIP HOP to purchase, NY is not our only option….but we get dissed because of that??? Why?

Anyway, yea the debate was cool…I did a little debating in High School LMAO, I guess thats why I could go on for days in any of these posts…but I agree to disagree.
