Alicia Keys Doesn’t Care What You Think
Geesh…
Singer Alicia Keys was spotted over in London earlier today without makeup on. It’s common knowledge that Alicia’s has a hormones problem that causes chronic acne. It seems that modern day acne treatment doesn’t work on her skin.
Alicia was in my hometown London to perform on the Brits 2010 show with Jay Z. Normally, I prefer my women without makeup. But in this case, Alicia Keys should never leave the house without at least some concealer to hide her craters.
She even has acne on her lip! Not sexy at all. Do better, Alicia.

I have adult acne too. And 5011 pounds of makeup never helps your skin.
SMH, U so wrong Sandra,(trying not to laugh, ’cause I went thru an acne phase). O well, it is what it is.
“Do better”..? How do you expect this gurl to “do better”, obviously there is nothing much she can “do” about it, and how do you know that wearing make up helps…what if it makes it worse. She’s allowed to let her face get some fresh air….

I don’t think its nice to point the finger at something someone can not control. Its obvious she can’t help it because she has the money to fix it. Swizzy aint got no problem with… but I guess Pro Active did….
I think she should be allowed to unwind. She doesn’t have to wear makeup at all times. Acne is not the end of the world. She’s still beautiful, acne and all.

Whoa! Wasn’t quite ready for that. There has to be something that would help her skin. I suffer with occasional breakouts (nothing compared to this) and I use a prescription antibiotic for 7 days every few months and it keep my skin clear. I also use Obagi skin care line to keep my skin blemish free.
YUCK!!! Even her shades are oily!
the same way people shouldnt clown kids on their looks is the same way people shouldn’t be made fun of about things they cannot control…ie, complexion, skin problems, height etc. Maybe she’s tired of wearing lots of makeup. Maybe she wants to be normal and can’t be and dermatologists cannot help her problem.

Proactive worked wonders for my best friend. She had adult acne. She looks like a totally different person…
pro active isn’t always the best…i used it and my skin was so sensitive it made it worse. but like everyone else is saying the girl does have a right to let her skin breath. wearing all that heavy make up is going to make her skin break out more. so go on with ya acne self alicia i aint mad at ya

My derm prescribed Bactrim and it’s like an adult acne wonder drug.

I have bad ‘adult acne’ sometimes too. And believe me wearing make-up does not help but makes it worse. It clogs the pores up. I realized when I don’t wear much makeup that I don’t have a lot of acne. So, I usually splash lots of water on my face and use a cleanser with alcohol and this seems to help clear the acne!

All I can say is that she’s human behind all that glam. We shouldn’t expect her to be perfect all the time. I don’t have skin issues but if I did..I’d have to let go all of the makeup too and try to change my lifestyle a little, so I don’t blame her. Stress can cause alot of that..
She still looks good. I guess…. My friend has adult acne and she’s reluctantly using acutane to treat it now. I don’t live in a glass house so I won’t throw stones at someone for something that they have no control over.

Did she do a informercial for them? (I can’t remember), but that stuff don’t work. That ish is like a liquid foundation. I an experiment with it before. I go in and out of adult acne also. I heard that Proactiv stops working if you use it too long. Maybe that why Akeys is broken out. They must have laid her makeup on THICK for the video with Beyonce!

If you look at the pic long enough and without the close up (smh sandra)her skin is not too bad, it’s just really oily with a few pimples. There was a girl I went to school with that had the worst acne I have ever seen, she would use tons of makeup, but it only hid the scabs you could still see the craters….15yrs later her skin is clear. With no scars.

My first born had it really bad, now my youngest has it bad, my daughters are in their 20′s but it is a hormone thing also, what we eat and our stress level. So many factors can cause acne.

As for me, I begin to have acne after I had my daughter. It wasn’t the blemish so much as it was the pigmentation. Bing on the nuva ring took care of all of that tho!

Hello All. I admire Alicia for being herself and showing her flaws. Truth be told, she’s prettier than a whole lot of women and I don’t say this because she’s a LSLH woman. Beauty is in one’s features, their nose, eyes, mouth, smile. Striking features are what makes a woman beautiful, not the color of the skin or her hair but IMO nice hair does help:) What does the Bible say, a woman’s hair is her crown and glory? Childddddd, most of us must have been sleep in the corner when God was giving out hair. “Just ball it up and throw it to me.” LOL

Whew! *Slowly peeps around the corner* Is it safe to come out now? It seems I missed all the drama but I wanted to tell anyone who has acne to ask thier derm about Accutane. It really worked for me. It’s very strong and there are several side effects to look out for but the only one I had was chapped lips. Proactiv dried my skin out and did not work long term. I think it’s better for mild acne. Hope that helps! And now back to lurking…
