Will LOUD Finally Put Rihanna in a League All By Herself?

The back cover of Rihanna’s hotly anticipated LOUD album has leaked online. The album’s celebrity features includes collaborations with Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga. With so much talent on loan from God, how can LOUD not rocket Rihanna into the stratosphere and put her in a league all by herself?

From what I hear, the album contains some of the best material Rihanna has recorded to date.

I heard 6 of the tracks over the phone recently after I promised not to record the phone call. The tracks included “Raining Men” ft. Nicki Minaj’s annoying raps.

Vocally, Rihanna has grown to the point where Madonna was when her Like a Virgin made her a global megastar in ’84.

I was in nursing school when that iconic album came out. I vividly recall ‘Virgin’ disrupting classes at my nursing school in Florida because most of my fellow classmates were out buying the album.

Will LOUD do that for Rihanna?

I wanna hear the song with Lady Gaga, other than that it looks relatively unimpressive. But I’ll give it a listen when it comes out.

I think it may sell more than Rated R, just cause its not as dark, but I dunno about any big numbers.

Cause I was born in ’84 && I will be 26 next month. One would have to be at least 19-20 going into medical school. Right?

This actually looks good and interesting.

@Flo .. I am with you. Rated R wasn’t bad IMO. I actually bootlegged it and listen to it once a week. I still don’t think she can sing really, but Rated R wasn’t a bad album IMO. The lead single for this is annoying and def not the Rhi I prefer, but some people like it. So time will tell how she does on the charts.

You are a hot mess. Not too long ago you said Rihanna couldn’t sing a lick and you said her last album sucked something terrible. I better start seeing some Rihanna prizes given away for all this love. I know you were crushing on her back in the day, but nothing like this complete turnaround. You’re treating her better than T.I., Tiny and Monica combined. What gives?

For the record RiRi I have always loved you, Run This Town was my shizz and I stood up for it when Sandra said you sounded like a wet cat or something to that effect and I’m a major fan of RiRi the warrior woman. Now can get get some of your left over shoes?

I dunno about this one. Screams: “trying too hard.” What I HATE about Rihanna is that she is not an “artist.” She has no creativity, no lane of her own, no real theme to her existence. When she “reinvents” herself, there is no ingenuity about it. Simply- “Def Jam wanted me to take my next album in a new direction, so they told me to try this one and this is what I’m doing. Please buy it.”

And it doesn’t bother me that she is solely a “manufactured” artist- it bothers me that I can TELL that she is solely a manufactured artist. I don’t BELIEVE Rihanna. And I know this- because when she sings a song- I spend more time making bets with myself on who wrote the song for her, then trying to figure out what life situation prompted her to write it.

But that’s just my opinion….as the BUYING consumer…I’m nobody important, you know…

Call me a stan but I actually liked Rated R. All but Rude Boy. (The biggest hit) LOL. I just dont like the calypso type music. But based on the two songs I’ve heard on Loud, Only Girl- I like it and Who’s that Chick- I dont like that one…it’s a toss up as to the overall sound. But I’ll definitely download it from somewhere OOPS, I mean purchase it from Target or something and listen to it. ;)

*sigh* :/ I’m not talking about comparing Rihanna to Madonna’s voice or her dance skills. I’m talking about albums gaining iconic status. We would not be talking about Madonna if her music wasn’t great. Let’s face it, Madonna’s voice in the beginning was not all that.
