New Music: Michael Jackson ft. Akon – Hold My Hand

Singer/producer Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas joins the chorus of outraged Michael Jackson family and fans protesting Sony’s decision to release an album of unfinished songs by Michael.
Will.i.am recently spoke out against the release by saying, “Whoever put it out and is profiting off of it, I want to see how cold they are,” he said. “He just wasn’t any ordinary artist. He was a hands-on person. To me, it’s disrespectful. There’s no honoring. Michael Jackson songs are finished when Michael says they’re finished. Maybe if I never worked with him I wouldn’t have this perspective. He was very particular about how he wanted his vocals, the reverb he used … he was that hands-on.”
The album, entitled Michael, consists of tracks featuring Lenny Kravitz, 50 Cent and Akon. It will be released on December 14, just in time for Christmas.

“Hold My Hand” is one of the tracks produced by Akon back in 2007 that leaked online in 2008. “Hold My Hand” was one of many that were left unfinished so Michael could concentrate on his scheduled concert dates at the 02 Arena in London in 2009.
That was his main priority, and he was so excited about it,” said Akon. “He was like, ‘Man. We sold this out in a minute. My fans are still there. They still love me. They’re alive.’ ” That motivated him more than anything.”
When Jackson died of a cardiac arrest, Akon was asked what he would do with the music he and Michael created together:
Right now they’re pretty much all ideas, but if there is anything to be done to them, of course I would let the family make all those decisions. I think it’s their right to figure out how they want his music distributed or finish these records before we move on with it. I wouldn’t ever take it upon myself to try to release any of his music without working with the family. Source

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Damn man, you that sick. your gravi is huge. LOL.
We know Katherin loves money, maybe she wanted the cd released.
After watching “This is it” I do question whether Michael would have wanted this out.
and it’s hard to believe that he would have authorized the release of this album without having his specific blue-print on it
He was a very meticulous artist
Love MJ.
Hate Akon-vict.
This song is weak.
I actually like it. I normally don’t like chipmunk-like singing.
I agree with Will.i.am; however, Sony is in the business of making money and having this library of music sitting in the vault collecting dust doesn’t bring in the dollars. It’s unfortunate but Michael = dollars to Sony.
I like it but all I could think about while I was listening was “…ebony and ivory…”
MJ couldn’t have peace when he was alive, and unfortunately, it seems like he will never get to Rest In Peace neither.
I can understand both points of view. Michael’s family has every right to continue to eat off of him just like the Hiltons, Walmart descendents, Kennedy’s and so on. And just because Mike might have said a song was great didn’t mean it was. I have his last album and there are very few good songs on it. Lets just keep our fingers crossed that Sony does a good job with the music.
No.
MJ was the best and I’m sure he was a perfectionist at his craft and that is why he had so many hits, but the way that these people are like scavengers over the last piece of carcas, I am sure he is rolling over in his grave.

I don’t like it. It is just how they did Pac. They put his rhymes with whack a$$ beats to make more money off of him, knowing he would not like that. Anything with Akon’s voice on it is garbage. #epicfailure

Heyyyyy Yso
R.I.P Michael I love you so much! … People make me sick. Hungry for the dollar.
But it sound so beautiful. I am tearing up over here. I am a huge MJ fan. But this is so disrespectful.
@bird. very few great MJ songs on invincible?
Are you serious? Hold on as I lls at your statement.
Wonders if thats Akon & Mike holding hands on the cover???
Mike didn’t like this song when he was alive….It was leaked when he was still here and it didn’t appear on an album then. I thought the Jacksons where against realeasing the new cd? At any rate, Kathrine needs to kick everyone over the age of 18 out of her house…that can safe her at least $2000 in groceries each month…just sayin…
@ Flo
Stop it.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I hope at least some of this profit goes towards his estate…
according to Kanye: “‘I wish Michael Jackson had twitter! Maybe Mike could have explained how the media tried to set him up!!! It’s all a f—ing set up!!!!!!”
Sony do better!
I just got to listen to the song and I like it. It’s vintage Michael. He might have tweaked it here and there, but I bet he would like it. I’m sure it will be a pop hit.
