Alicia Keys is Dead
Singer and new mom Alicia keys joined a host of celebrities who are helping to raise money for AIDS research by suffering a ‘digital death’ which involves them logging off their Twitter, Facebook and other social networking sites for 24 hours on Wednesday, Dec. 1.
The concept of ‘The Digital Life Sacrifice’ was created by Alicia who said, ”Once I got people on the phone and I was able to paint the concept for them, everybody was in. ‘We’re trying to make the remark, ‘why do we care so much about the death of one celebrity as opposed to millions and millions of people dying in the place that we’re all from?”
Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Kim Kardashian, P. Diddy, Jennifer Hudson, Ryan Seacrest, Elijah Wood, Serena Williams, Jay Sean and more make beautiful corpses while lying in their coffins in a series of ghastly portraits released by Worlds AIDS organization.
The stars logged offline on Tuesday, Nov. 30, and will not sign back on until $1 million has been raised for Alicia Keys’ Keep A Child Alive cause.

So you want these broke, unemployed, underemployed, fighting for benefits extension folks who can barely afford to feed & shelter their own selves & families to break the damn LINT in their pockets to raise just “$1 Million”, when every single one of these people could donate $1 Million a damn PIECE and get a huge tax break for it. So you want us to give all of our money to your wealthy azz cause, just as congress is preparing to give your over-indulgent azz an extension on the tax breaks you don’t need.
Take the money coming from those tax breaks for those making over $500K a year and donate THAT to make your $1 Mil. I bet you’ll reach that mark in no time!!

I have never understood why we (Americans) are so quick to run to the aid of everybody else while we all know at least one person or family that can use assistance healthcare something and they aren’t getting it. It reminds me of people that are trying to front like they got it all but really struggling to keep their lil bit be real and take care of your own first. I have one rule- I don’t walk past ANYBODY with a kid. That’s my guiding principle. My mother taught me that at a very young age- NEVER walk past anybody with a child. I learned that walking to the movies with my mother one day when she gave a woman who was begging & pleading for money to eat with her two kids in tow our McDonalds money.

That being said- I gave. I hate carrying cash so when I have cash in my purse, I know I drive by the same 4-5 homeless people on the same corners everyday between my job & my house. I’ve broken down a $20 in my purse MANY of time and gave each of them $5. Two of the women know my damn face & car at this point.
If I cannot break it quick enough- I usually give the whole thing to whoever I can catch up with first. I don’t mind giving a $10 or a $20 every week. I don’t do church, so I don’t tithe but I know I’m blessed and digging in my pockets every week to help somebody EAT as I’m on my way to a restaurant with my fiance’ is the very LEAST I could do- just being honest.

Yes- the 7-11 eleven that sells alcohol and any hood liquor store or store near a college. WARNING: DO NOT DRINK MORE THAN ONE CAN A DAY!! My fiance used to drink a fifth of smirnoff vodka and follow it with bacardi rum/sprite every other night and would be fine but he drank a whole can of that 4Loko in an hour and he was throwing up all over the place within 3 hours.
That caffeine/alcohol mixture also gets you so “revved up” that you don’t feel drunk and drink more of it and that’s how folks were “blacking out” from it. Drink it only when you get home and have no intention of leaving the house anymore that night.

thank you- I am totally in agreement with you. And I’ve worked at a Non-Profit org before and my ex founded/owns one…..those 501c3 organizations are pulling in way more money for “petty cash”t han folks would like to imagine.
I can never put a negative thought into being charitable and I have passed many homeless but give in other ways. Maybe its because I live in NY and I can easily see that on the train. A charity is a charity is a charity at the end of the day.

Okay I have something to say about these celebrities and this ‘Dead’ campaign. Supposedly, according to other readings on different blogs isn’t this process lying in an open casket the way they make their deal with Satan in order to get their riches??? They have to lie in a coffin and when they get out they have sold their souls to the devil in order to be rich and famous.
Now this is just what I’ve read on other sites peoples so I find it ironic that this is the basis of this so called ‘Dead’ campaign.
Who cares if they go off line for days until $1 million is reached. I agree with other posters each one of these Dead celebrites could donate $1 million or two without the public’s help. Ryan Seacrest has about 4 multi million dollar jobs. He is on Kiss FM Los Angeles, American Idol, E news and Producer of the Kardashian show on E. I don’t even have a job but i’m suppose to give up gas money that i could use to fill up my tank to make it to an interview to try and get a job for this DEAD cause. I think this campaign sucks and I don’t like the concept.
