Audio: Keyshia Cole addresses her relationship with her family
R&B singer Keyshia Cole was a guest on V-103′s ‘The Ryan Cameron Show’ yesterday in Atlanta. She addressed the ongoing issues between herself and her mom, Frankie, and why she still has not been able to fix the relationship with her family.

it amazes me that keyshia is so cute and talented and her family is gutter…wow the gene pool is amazing.

Keyshia did right to distance herself from her family. Sometimes you have to watch and love the train wrecks from afar.
Agreed @Kezi. Trying to save someone drowning can be dangerous for you.
She sounded torn about having to distance herself but, self preservation was definitely in order.
I still say KCole wouldn’t have distanced herself from them had they let her be executive producer on their show. She needs to know that Frankie n Neffe were NOT ever shown in the most positive light on her show before they got the spin off. I think Neffe has grown since we first came to know her and I was glad to see them out and about together. I wish them well and hope n pray Frankie gets and stays clean.

Watch what you say baby girl, watch what you say. You leave the Queen out of this. MJB mother has never carried herself the way Frankie does and Keyshia doesn’t carry herself the way Mary USE to. She’s mature now and I’m sure will still get down if need be.

I agree sometimes you have to love from far ..
I can truly understand what KeyCo mean when she said “once that bond is broken…”. It is hard to fix and when it is fixed, it will NEVER be the same.
The only thing we can do is just pray for them. KeyCo has said she would love for son to meet/know that side of her family. I just wish that for the sake of it being KeyCo, Frankie, Neffe and nem would have portrayed themselves differently. Yeah, they only acted the way they knew how and the world got a good laugh but in the end, it was very embarrassing on KeyCo and I was embarrassed for her.

The same things that were being shown on Frankie and Neffie was basically the same things that was shown on The way it is. If it don’t make dollars it don’t make sense.
And why isn’t she mad at Manny his name was attached to the Frankie and Neffie show.

My thing with this is its nobodies fault but Keyshia’s because she put them out there knowing how they are/were. She wanted to make a buck off of that and it backfired. If I had family like that no way in hell would they be on TV embarrassing me. Hopefully Frankie can get the help she needs, but it doesn’t need to be on television.
Although I didn’t win an award, I was nominated in two categories and thats cool enough for me. I thought that the awards was very well orcheestrated considering it was the first, Yvonne and Ace did an excellent job!

@iscream I love MJB as u know. I can flip it and say KC never did drugs like Mary. I like both artist. MJB is he Queen and cool w/me. I said the same thing she never got mad at Manny. I felt KC should have been happy they were out of her pockets although she said she still takes care of them.

Keyshia’s family wasn’t even a family until she became famous. Frankie the crack head had those children scattered to the four corners of the earth. Did they ever even find the rest of them? Anyway, they just started forming a bond when all hell broke loose so the current situation is not a surprise. God bless all of them. I hope they can move past the mess that Frankie created at some point.

@daisy i mainly meant looks wise… keyshia a pretty girl even before the money she was a cute girl and her mother is a wreck. im sorry in advance for sheez, was she pretty when she was younger? maybe it was the drugs.
I love KC she reminds me of myself in so many ways, glad she was able to rise above and make a nice life for herself.

I completely agree with this. I am a Mary fan too but she was gutter also but she has matured. And Keyshia was talking all that noise when she used them to promote her first album. Im just saying…

@sponge while I think KC is pretty none of my friends do they think she looks like a bull dog (so not nice) anyway Neffie looks nice when made up and in person when I saw her. Not sure about Frankie.

They always had a disconnect being that they were all raised in different places. Frankie allowed drugs/alcohol to destroy her family. They need intense therapy that doesn’t involve cameras for TV.

:ontopic: Yes, sometimes you do have to distance yourself from your family to have “growth, peace of mind and non drama. Now why I come to this site when all I have to do is open my front door, or pick up a phone and talk to blood relatives is beyond me. LOL.
