Director/playwright Tyler Perry covers Men’s Health magazine on news stands now. Perry, who detours from his safety zone to star as an action hero in his newest movie ‘Alex Cross,’ says losing weight gave him a new sense of confidence that he never had before.

“I feel like it’s okay to be thought of as sexy,” says the 43-year-old New Orleans native.

On shedding 30 pounds for his ‘Alex Cross’ role:
“I walk into a room with a lot more confidence. All my life I’ve tried to hide my height. I was taller than everybody else and stood out, so I would slouch and try to hide it. But with what I’ve been able to do with my body, I’m owning it. I’m standing up when I walk into a room. Now, I feel like it’s okay to be thought of as sexy.”

Gay men everywhere should be proud that Mr. Perry is openly accepting his sexiness. If I didn’t know any better I would think a surprise announcement is coming soon!
