A 15-year-old boy is in police custody in New Mexico, charged with killing two adults and three children at a South Valley home near Albuquerque Sunday morning, the Associated Press reports.

The teen was identified as Nehemiah Griego. The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as Pastor Greg Griego, 51; his wife Sara Griego, 40; and three of their children, Zephania Griego, 9; Jael Griego, 5; and Angelina Griego, 2. The victims were all shot multiple times with an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle (similar to the one pictured above in a Getty Images stock photo).

Pastor Griego is the brother of former state Sen. Eric Griego. Nehemiah Griego was booked on two counts of murder and three counts of child abuse resulting in death.

After gunning down his entire family around 1 p.m., Nehemiah called a family friend who called 911, KOB.com reports.

Pastor Griego was being remembered as a kind-hearted, family man.

“Greg loved his family, he loved his church, he loved God, and was very involved with and had love for people in prison,” Brian Nixon, Calvary executive director, told KOB.com. “He headed up our jail ministry, he had a passion for people and to help them.”

Police are also still trying to determine a motive for the shootings. A cache of weapons from the home, including an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle like the one used by a madman who killed 20 children and 6 adults at the Sandy Hook Elementary school in Newtown, CT.

President Obama, who was sworn in as the 45th president on Sunday, called on Congress to ban assault rifles and high capacity magazines last week.

      I guess this murder will be the next “hoax” or “conspiracy theory” that people start throwing around about the president’s anti-gun agenda. I :pray: for the people that lost their lives at the hand of this SICK kid. May they rest in peace and the may the surviving family find solace. :smh:

      Banning assault rifles sure and then what? Someone will always find a way to get them. Drugs are banned too but they still are being sold and distributed.

      If those parents had been armed, they could have shot it out to survive. Everyone should always have a gun at all times for situations like this.

      I agree. I think its also pointless to ban murder and theft because people have always done both throughout history. It will never stop, so why even bother? I completely understand where you are coming from.

      I not saying not to try but people will always find a way so its useless. People will always want to try to banned something when something happens this should have been thought about way before.

      @BLACK
      I completely agree! People will do it anyway! Might as well just give everyone a gun and let everyone fend for themselves. Thats easiest, most logical and efficient thing to do.

      We are on the same page. Give everyone a gun and say to hail with it all. Since you cant stop people from doing stupid things like drugs, just let them do whatever the hail they want.

      Im glad another person in here has a brain.

      And how does this boy even know how to load an AR-15? Black Ops or Call of Duty. “Practice” makes perfect.

      I’m completely confused by this sentence. I’ve read it 3 times and can’t figure out what it is supposed to mean. Does it mean that there were a cache of weapons recovered from the home? If so, did they belong to the parents? And if so, @Man, apparently the parents were ‘armed’.

      It just means that a was a hiding spot filled with weapons and one of those weapons were similar to the one used in the Newton, CT shooting
