Tamera Mowry Shares Her Curly Hair Secrets

Don't you hate it when highly favored LSLH women pretend that their good hair isn't one of the benefits of their biracial heritage?

Let's face it, nappy hair is called nappy for a reason. It takes a good deal of effort (and strong chemicals) to tame our tight African curls.

For women like Tamera Mowry and her twin sister, Tia, half the battle is won because they inherited their soft, easy to manage curls from their white ancestors.

On her blog, Tamera suggests that everyone (even those of us with tight, hard to manage curls) can achieve her soft bouncy curls by simply drying our hair with a cotton tee instead of a towel which causes split ends.

Boy Scouts Vote to Admit Openly Gay Boys Yesterday, the Boy Scouts of America voted to admit openly gay boys for the first time. But Pascal Tessier, 16, has mixed feelings about the historic decision. At 16, he is one step away from earning his Eagle Scout -- the highest honor for a Boy Scout. He is also openly gay.

"I was thinking that today could be my last day as a Boy Scout," Tessier said. "Obviously, for gay Scouts like me, this vote is life-changing."

Tessier is concerned that he will be kicked out of the organization when he turns 18.

That's because, despite ongoing pressure from gay rights advocates and corporate sponsors, the Boy Scouts of America remains resistant to allowing openly gay scout leaders.

"That one couple hours (between 17 and 18) will make me not a good person," Tessier said.

Skylar Diggins has fans

I admit I didn't know who Skylar Diggins was until rapper Lil Wayne started lusting after her on his Twitter page last year.

Instead of being totally grossed out by a gremlin lusting after her, Diggins was actually flattered by the attention.

Anyway, I had no idea how loyal (and rude) Diggins' fans were (I didn't even know she had fans). One irate fan was so incensed by yesterday's post on Skylar bragging about her gift from Jay Z that she emailed me a nasty letter.

The letter tickled me because the fan assumes that I give a rat's a** that Diggins has a new Mercedes Benz. My 2004 Jetta may not be sitting on dubs, but it's paid for.

Read the email after the break.

Guess Who

This actress is one of the most beautiful black women in Hollywood. She lives a life of luxury and comfort that most women can only dream of.

It would seem that her life is complete. She is currently engaged to handsome NBA superstar and she plays stepmom to his two preteen sons. The only blemish on her record seems to be the cold, callous and unsympathetic way in which she deals with the NBA star's troubled ex-wife.

Bus Company Cancels 'Ghetto' Tours

A bus company has cancelled tours that promised tourists a glimpse into the seedier side of New York "from a safe distance."

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the company, Real Bronx Tours, cancelled the tours amid outrage from local residents.

Three times a week, the $45 tour gave foreign visitors a glimpse at food lines, drug dealers chilling outside corner bodegas, seedy housing projects, and a park described as a pickpocket hangout.

The tour website described the Bronx as a borough that was "notorious for drugs, gangs, crime and murders."

Medical Minute: Bipolar Disorder

Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, 43, returned home to her New York City apartment today after dropping her daughter off at school this morning. This is the first photo of Zeta-Jones since her much-publicized admission to a facility for treatment of bipolar disorder.

Her husband, Michael Douglas, described Zeta-Jones's admission to the facility as "a 10,000 mile check-up."

Zeta-Jones revealed her diagnosis exclusively to People magazine in July 2011. "This is a disorder that affects millions of people and I am one of them," she told the magazine.

So what is bipolar disorder, you ask?
