Up-and-coming R&B singer August Alsina is still hospitalized at a NY area hospital after passing out and falling off stage during a concert on Monday. Alsina, 22, is in an ICU being treated for multiple seizures, according to published reports.
A rep for the singer told gossip tabloid TMZ the doctors attributed Alsina’s fainting spell to the mythical celebrity diagnosis “exhaustion and dehydration.”
A source close to Alsina’s camp said the singer hadn’t eaten all day, and he smoked too much “Knockout” — a strain of high grade medical marijuana. Toxicology tests revealed Alsina had marijuana in his system.
Knockout marijuana, also known as “K.O. Kush Cannabis,” is described by pot distributors as “insanely strong” and “a true heavyweight that hits like a sledgehammer.”
Rapper Kid Cudi also passed out during a concert at Chicago’s North Coast Music Festival last month. He reportedly smoked “Knockout” weed prior to performing.
