A Maryland woman and her 2-year-old daughter were shot to death by the child’s father after he was ordered to pay child support.

NeShante Davis, 26, was found shot to death next to her car in the parking lot of her townhouse.

Her mortally wounded daughter, Chloe Davis-Green, was found in her car seat in Davis’ blue Chevrolet.

Chloe was rushed to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Neighbors say they heard yelling followed by multiple gunshots on Tuesday.

Davis, a beloved elementary school teacher, was awarded $600 a month child support in a paternity suit against Chloe’s father, Daron Boswell-Johnson.

Boswell-Johnson was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with murder. He reportedly admitted his involvement in their deaths following his arrest.

A DNA test confirmed Boswell-Johnson’s paternity in the child support case in December.

“Who can shoot a child?” asked Melonie Parker at a memorial service on Tuesday. “How could you look a child in their face and shoot a child? I don’t understand.”

Counselors were available at Bradbury Heights Elementary School where Davis was a second grade teacher.

“It really hurt me. The school called this morning,” said Erik Hines, the father of a student. “Miss Davis was an excellent teacher.”
