When socialite Kim Kardashian returns to the celebrity spotlight tonight, she will be better protected than first lady Michelle Obama.
The NY Daily News reports that the 36-year-old reality star will make her first public appearance since her high-profile robbery in Paris on Monday night. But she won't be alone.
Kardashian will be accompanied by a phalanx of highly trained security personnel from a security firm that specializes in guarding diplomats and the like.
"A team of security experts goes through her day-to-day life to assess potential threats and vulnerabilities," an insider told Us Weekly. "She's taking a driver and using all different cars to throw off people tracking her."
Kardashian took herself out of circulation after the media and fans expressed doubts about her robbery story.
Then her main revenue stream was interrupted when E! Network suspended filming of her family reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
But all of that is behind her now as Kardashian makes an appearance tonight at the Angel Ball, where her late father Robert Kardashian is being honored in NYC. The Angel Ball is a fundraiser to benefit cancer research.
Robert Kardashian died of esophageal cancer just eight weeks after he was diagnosed. He was a member of the "dream team" that successfully defended O.J. Simpson during his infamous murder trial more than 20 years ago.
