Comments Off on Zeboe Pullins, Zonnique’s Dad, Speaks Out

Last night I spoke briefly by phone with Zeboe Pullins, the father of Tameka "Tiny" Harris' 16-year-old daughter, Zonnique "Niq" Pullins. Zeboe called me to set the record straight about his relationship with his daughter, whom he loves dearly.

I can always tell which direction a conversation is going in when it starts off with "Look here miss lady..."

But Mr. Zeboe was charming, sincere and straight to the point. He chose his words carefully -- explaining that he and I are "from different worlds." (I took that to mean he doesn't read the blogs.)

Zeboe respectfully requested that his name be left out of topics of conversations on the blog, and that he didn't have anything to prove to my readers.

A DeKalb man was sentenced to 18 years in prison for beating his 5-month-old son to death, The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.

Benjamin Edetanlen's attorney used the bible to justify the horrific beatings that resulted in the infant's death in 2004.

“Mr. Edetanlen firmly believed in the adage, you know, spare the rod and spoil the child,” defense attorney Ingrid McGaughey said with a straight face.

But prosecutors argued that the abuse based on the archaic bible passage went far beyond normal discipline procedures. The infant died from blunt force trauma, brain injuries and a broken leg, reports the AJC.

Whitney Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina, 19, is set to star in her own reality TV show titled "The Houstons On Our Own," on Lifetime television on Oct. 24. The reality show will follow Bobbi Kristina's life after Whitney's sudden death of an accidental drowning earlier this year.

Also appearing in the program is Bobbi K.'s longtime boyfriend, Nick Gordon; her grandmother, Cissy Houston, Pat Houston, who is married to Whitney Houston's brother, Gary; and Pat's daughter. According to a source close to the show's production company, Whitney never officially adopted Nick Gordon as her son, which dispels the stories about Bobbi K. and Nick engaging in an incestuous relationship.

Pat Houston described the reality show in a statement released earlier this year: "I have been working with Simmons-Shelley over the past few years developing a project suitable for myself and our family," Pat Houston said. "The unexpected passing of Whitney certainly affects the direction of the show. However, it is my hope that others will be enlightened as they watch our family heal and move forward."

Bobbi Kristina made her acting debut on Tyler Perry's 'For Better or Worse' in July.

Watch the sneak peak of 'Houston's On Our Own' after the break.

Rappers Young Jeezy and Rick Ross, who both own homes in Atlanta, got into a shoving match backstage at the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards, according to sources who witnessed the wild encounter.

Witnesses say the BET staff didn't clear the hallway fast enough after Ross got off the stage, which resulted in a bottleneck of Jeezy's people and Ross's entourage near both men's dressing rooms backstage.

The hallway was already crowded with male and female groupies when both entourages converged in the hallway and words were exchanged between Jeezy and Ross.

If you love redneck humor spewing out of the mouth of a precocious 7-year-old girl, you're in luck. TLC Network has ordered more episodes of the breakout hit cable reality series 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' starring kiddie beauty pageant star Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson.

The network ordered Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday episodes of the hit show that trumped Bill Clinton's DNC speech in the TV ratings.

Georgia native Honey Boo Boo Chile is famous for her redneck catchphrases such as "A dolla makes me holla" and "You better redneckognize!" But critics take issue with the show for making a mockery of the trailer park lifestyle.
