Nicki Minaj’s music video for her single “Right By My Side” premiered today. The Benny Boom-directed video features a Nicki who plays a round-the-way girl who finds love with a regular dude (Nas). The vid also features Chris Brown.
Video Premiere: Jarvis – Make a Little Room

Over the weekend, R&B singer Jarvis leaked a track title “Make a Little Room” off his new mixtape which drops this Summer. The track received glowing reviews from my readers and followers on Twitter.com, who compared Jarvis’s smooth vocals to struggling singers Chris Brown and Trey Songz.
Behind the Scenes: Chris Brown – Don’t Wake Me Up
Chris Brown tweeted photos from the set of his latest video “Don’t Wake Me Up” last night on Twitter.com. Brown, who tried his hand at directing other artist’s videos last week, decided to hire professionals, Colin Tilley and Andrew Listermann, to direct his video which was filmed out in the desert.

Throwback Thursdays: TLC- What About Your Friends

Yesterday was the 10th anniversary of the tragic passing of TLC member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. In remembrance of their fallen sister, the surviving members of TLC, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas announced plans for a new tour with Left Eye. Coachella attendees are still buzzing about the late rapper Tupac Shakur’s resurrection onstage as a 3D Hologram.
The Tupac hologram was such a hit that it sparked rumors of Hologram comeback tours featuring icons Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley. But the cost of a hologram is dauntingly expensive ($100k to $500k). So will T-Boz and Chilli foot the bill for Left Eye’s hologram?
Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown shooting visuals for “Right By My Side”
Troubled singer Chris Brown tweeted images from a photo shoot Wednesday night on his Twitter account. The disturbing images show half naked women levitating in the air above hospital beds which line both sides of a street. It’s ironic that Brown should use hospital beds as props since it looks like he should be lying down in one.
According to Freshlikedougie blog, Brown and Nicki Minaj are shooting a music video for “Right By My Side” this week.
Behind the Scenes: “DJ Drama We In This B*tch” ft Ludacris, T.I., Jeezy, Future
Celebrity photographer Thad McAdams of ExclusiveAccess.net sent in these pics from the set of DJ Drama’s “We In This B*tch“. The video was shot earlier this week in Atlanta, and features rappers T.I, Ludacris, Young Jeezy, Future, and more.
Throwback Tuesdays: Michael Jackson – Remember The Time

If you weren’t at least 12-years-old in 1992, then you won’t remember the insane hype leading up to the premiere of Michael Jackson’s “Remember The Time” short movie.
The Internet was not easily accessible to everyone back then. But it was difficult to ignore the massive marketing machinery behind the short movie for Michael’s 2nd single off of his multi-platinum Dangerous album.
“Remember The Time”‘s music video was loosely based on Eddie Murphy’s hit comedy movie Coming To America (1988).
Leading up to the world premiere, MTV and BET teased us by airing clips of the behind the scenes magic that went into making this 9-minute spectacle directed by John Singleton. When “Remember The Time” finally premiered on MTV and BET simultaneously on Feb. 22, 1992, it was one of the longest music videos ever, clocking in at just over 9 minutes.
RTT starred some of the biggest names of that era: including comedian Eddie Murphy, supermodel Iman and NBA star Magic Johnson, who 1 year earlier announced he was infected with the HIV virus and retired from the NBA.
The music video dance sequences were choreographed by Fatima Robinson. Fatima also choreographed the opening credits sequence of Queen Latifah’s hit TV show “Living Single”, as well as scores of rap music videos in the 80s and 90s.
What struck me the most when I first viewed this video back in 1992 were how much lighter Michael had bleached his skin, the awkward kiss between him and Iman, and the Egyptian dance scenes, which I still love!
