Usher Raymond does some shopping at Maxfield store in West Hollywood, LA

Pop singer Usher Raymond, 35, was spotted dashing to his Range Rover SUV after shopping at Maxfield store in West Hollywood, LA. Usher was later seen having lunch at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. I broke the news on Twitter.com that Usher finally unloaded his $3 million Roswell mansion at a loss ($2.2 million). I'm told it took some convincing to get Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster Raymond to move her things out after the closing, but don't quote me on that. Tameka reportedly took a job working on a reality show to make ends meet.

Drake OVO Air Jordans

This post is for true sneaker heads who appreciate wearing another man's used, smelly pair of throwback Jordans.

A used pair of one-off OVO Air Jordans was bidding for $100,000 on eBay yesterday, according to ESPN Sports business reporter Darren Rovell.

Rovell cautions that the basketball shoes, which were gifted to Drake by Nike, may not be genuine. But that didn't matter to sneaker heads who pushed the bids over $100,000.

Drake and Rihanna Are Off The Market

According to my very well-connected rock solid source, Rihanna and Drake are NOT dating. Ignore the flurry of rumors littering the blogosphere about these two friends.

Yes, Rihanna attended a couple of Drake's concerts, and on Thursday they partied at Houston's V-Live strip club. But be clear that there is no romantic interest. Remember where you read this first.

Despite all of his achievements, awards and record sales, Canadian rapper Drake still can't get the respect he thinks he deserves. At issue is the continued criticism of Drake as more of a singer than a rapper.

St. Louis rapper Nelly rushed to Drake's defense saying an artist shouldn't be limited to just rapping.

"The guy sold damn near 800,000 the first week - so it's a lot of fans that like Drake's singing," said Nelly in an interview with Vlad-TV.

    Photos:

"As an artist, you can't have a stigma put on yourself as far as what you can do and what you can't do," Nelly continued. "You just try to be the best artist that you can be. We're in a time right now where being an artist doesn't limit you to rapping. It just doesn't limit you to singing. It limits you to create. All your job is is to create good music. He's creating good music. Fans that don't like to hear Drake sing, then switch to the next song where he's rapping."

Drake Nothing Was the Same leaks

Despite his best efforts, Drake's latest album, Nothing Was the Same, leaked online last night. The reaction on Twitter ran the gamut from "Hated it" to "obsessed" fans who vowed to wait until the album drops before listening.

Originally due out on September 15, Nothing Was the Same was pushed back one week to September 24. That was apparently enough time for a hacker to upload the tracks to the Internet. Links are going up faster than Drake's record label can pull them down.

So far there has been no reaction from Drake or his record label.

Listen to the album before you buy it after the break.

    Drake covers Billboard

Emo rapper Aubrey "Drake" Graham graces the September 2013 issue of Billboard magazine this week. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Drake said he is sleeping in the studio to complete his third album, Nothing Was the Same.

The album release has already been delayed once. "We have just 10 days before we turn it in," Drake said. "I'm literally sleeping in the studio on an air mattress. We're working 24-hour days to make sure the story is done, front to back. It has to be a new point of discovery."

Nothing Was the Same is scheduled for release on September 24.

    Miley Cyrus Shocks MTV VMAs

Shock singer Lady Gaga hoped last night would cap her big comeback after her long hiatus to undergo hip surgery. But Gaga's well-laid plans of mischief and mayhem for the MTV VMA's were foiled by young upstart Miley Cyrus, who had plans of her own.

Cyrus, who has twerked her way into the hearts of hoodrats everywhere, hit the stage twerking in a teeny, tiny vinyl bikini. Cyrus's controversial booty poppin' shocked veteran actor Will Smith who brought along his two children. After the slutty performance, comedian Kevin Hart quipped, "Miley better get a pregnancy test after all that twerkin'."

    J Cole and Drake

Rapper J. Cole sparked controversy when he said President Obama wouldn't have been elected if his skin was dark.

In an interview with BET, Cole said 'colorism' brainwashes black people to see light skinned people as highly favored in the black community. As an example, Cole said President Obama's light skin helped him win the election in 2008.

"Barack Obama would not be President if he were dark skin," said Cole.

"That brainwashing that tells us that light skin is better, it’s subconsciously in us, whether we know it or not… still pursuing light skin women," said Cole.

    Drake new music

Rapper superstar Drake wrestled Jay Z's crown from him in 2012 and never looked back. Don't think Jigga isn't feeling Drake's heat. The self-professed "light skin Keith Sweat" released his 2nd single, "All Me," off his much anticipated new album, Nothing Was The Same, available Sept 17. Drake, with the help of rappers 2 Chainz and Big Sean, lets Jay Z know that he got to the top all by himself. So confident is Drake that he even let Sean outshine him on his own track -- something Jay Z would never do.

Canadian rapper Drake says his brawl with singer Chris Brown in a now-defunct NYC nightclub was one of the lowest points of his career.

In a sit-down interview with GQ magazine, on newsstands now, Drake called the fight "embarrassing."

"It's embarrassing, the amount of media coverage," said Drake. "Two rappers fighting over the woman. He's not even a rapper, but still, it's the last way you want your name out there. It distracts from the music. But he's made me the enemy, and that's the way it's gonna stay, I guess."

    Drake and his father

Rapper Drake worked hard to keep his last album under wraps to prevent unauthorized leaks. But he forgot to keep a close eye on his OG dad, musician Dennis Graham. Drake's pops leaked the tracklist for Drake's new album, Nothing Was The Same, yesterday on Instagram.com. The tracklist was quickly deleted.

The release date for Drake's next album, on Cash Money, Young Money records, is yet to be determined. This is only significant because Drake raps about adding "no new friends" to his clique to protect his privacy, then his own daddy betrays him.

    Drake looking crazy
I know it doesn't seem like it from this recent interview with XXL mag, but rapper Drake really does care what you think about him and his wack music. If he didn't, he wouldn't speak on it, would he?

... as for people's opinions and sh*t like that, it's all good. That's what's going to happen. You know people are entitled to their opinion and it takes a certain type of individual to really come online and give their opinion of your music, positive or negative. I don't know if you do it, but I can't say I've ever gone online and posted underneath someone's song, and be like, 'Dope song, son.' Or, 'That sh*t is wack.' I've never done that before. It's just a certain community of people that really feel like that's their outlet and I know that me and my friends aren't any of them so I don't know who those people are and I can't really take their opinion too close to heart just because I'm not really sure what those people are made of and if their opinion's even valid so I just kind of keep it moving.

And here's what Drake had to say about you pesky photographers always catching him looking like.... himself:

I always get caught in the worst, most unphotogenic poses ever. Now people follow me with cameras and are just clicking away and I always feel like I just look mad different in pictures. I hate seeing pictures of myself online when I'm leaving a spot or whatever. I just always get caught laughing 'cause I'm always outside making jokes or whatever with the people, but I always end up looking so stupid like that's the sh*t that I'm always like, 'Man, I wish that didn't happen,' you know?

Note to Drake: It's not the paparazzi, son. That's how you look every day.
