Today we introduce a new section called Put ‘Em On Blast. This section gives a voice to those in the industry who feel they have been wronged by certain industry execs, celebrities or companies.

Please note that you must have evidence in the form of canceled checks or pictures or your Blast will be rejected. This section is not for the public to air grievances with other private citizens — call Judge Mathis for that.

First up is Miatta David (pictured), the beautiful founder of MVD, Inc Events firm based in NYC, who rolled through Atlanta last month bouncing checks in her wake. That might be how you roll in New York sweetie, but we don’t play that down here in the A

The bartenders and service people worked hard to make your event a success. They deserve to be compensated for their hard work.

Please put this company on blast for me. It’s a NY based company MVD Inc. They put on Soudja Boy’s 18th birthday party at the mansion in Conyers. Miatta David the owner gave out bad checks to the workers (bartenders, waitress, and models) knowing these checks would not clear. She wrote the check at 3am we deposited it at 9am. I have the returned check I can email you as well. Miatta David will not return calls and answers her own cell phone as if she was someone else. Please warn all.

Dear Sandra,

The post on me is incorrect. The bartender was indeed paid. The email said we gave out bad checks to waitresses, bartenders and models which is totally untrue. I do not handle my own accounts, the minute it was brought to my attention our accountant sent out a replacement check. It is also untrue that no one returned his call, I actually spoke with him earlier this week and he has not contacted me on my cell..I don¹t believe he even has the number. I have attached a copy of the replacement check mailed out to the bartender.

Since we support and continue to support SandraRose.com, I wish someone would have contacted me to verify this information prior to posting it. Now, our accounts have been compromised due to this posting based on false information.

Hopefully this clarifies what happened, please let me know if you need any additional information.

i’m all for people getting paid and all..but, putting that ladies check on here with all her personal business information is unbelievable. sandra you should have at least blocked that information out…i know you’ve had folks attorney’s send you letters etc..but, this time you might get more than a phone call and a letter knocking at your door. you can’t just do stuff like this and expect people not to do or say anything about it. all i can say is be careful when you come in and out your crib.

All those numbers on the bottom of that check are the account number and the bank’s routing number: Signature Bank- 8th Floor New York, NY 10036 (646) 822-1500.

With that info, you could feasibly transfer funds (if there are any) from that account to another, open up a Pay Pal account, pay a bill on line, get a pay day advance, make fake checks- ALL THAT!

not paypal unless you have access to the bank acoount for the min deposits they put in, but you are correct..you can easily make checks in her or the companies name as well as do an online payday advance(they don’t check info)as long as the account is valid its a done deal..I googled the routing number and it came up as well..that’s all that is needed to get the ball rolling..hopefully the account is closed

@ hun: right, but didn’t they get the checks after (or once) the event ended? most of the time payment isn’t made until after the service has been rendered. i guess the deposit cleared (probably for the venue itself) and everyone else was SOL…that’s messed up

A long time ago I remember watching an episode of Oprah. Roseanne was on their and Roseanne asked her to give her some advice that she could always use. Oprah said make sure that she signs every single check that goes out, no matter how big or small. So if someone running a billion dollar corporation can manage control of their finances I’m having a hard time believing that Ms. David cannot. Here answer “I do not handle my own accounts” is no excuse. No where in her answer did she say that she needs no business management representation. If someone else is watching her dough, they obviously aren’t doing a good job. I bet she got her money right off the top.

Since that new check processing system Check 21 came into play a few years ago, checks are cleared very quickly. Generally you can look at your account and print the cancelled check online. This is just a copy of a check. It is not proof that the worker has received the funds for services provided.

Yeah but the whole account story doesn’t sit with me either. She had to sign the check it was like that it was computer printed by ADP. I get checks from accounting firms all the time and they are printed.

I use that excuse to sometime, I usually just tell them that the check is in the mail and blame the USPS.

SR, I advise you that before you decide to start doing this section on a regular basis you cross your T’s and dot your I’s before you get sued for slander! I just assisted with a celebrity charity foundation weekend for a very popular NBA player, in which we did not get compensated for. Someone threatened to go to the local radion station there and air all their dirty laundry (even though mostly false accusations), and there were attorneys calling first thing Monday morning.

Be careful who is making accusations, sometimes people are just bitter and are willing to do anything for revenge. Be aware that you can be sued, even though this is a blog!! The young lady whose pic u posted has every right to sue u for slander if she wanted to take it there…FYI!!!

I guess that is why Oprah is a Billionaire and so many other people are not. Look at poor (literally) Dame Dash having to sue his accountant for getting him into tax trouble.

I agree posting the check is a bad thing, but blogs and even news sites post this kinds of stories all the time. How many times have we read that Lil Wayne has stiffed a promoter by not showing up for events even though he has been paid? It is what it is.

Why doesn’t Miatta handle her own accounts? That’s the worst thing that any business person can do which is totally entrust his/her accounts to an accountant/business manager/financial advisor.

Oprah Winfrey handles all of her own accounts and signs all checks. She said she learned that lesson from Bill Cosby. If Oprah, a billionaire, can keep tabs on her funds, little Ms. Miatta needs to begin handling her own funds at well. This is the reason why she’s in the mess she’s in now by not knowing what’s going on with her money.

HUNE916…Oprah may not sign all of her checks, she probably does have an electronic signature. But, I’d be willing to bet my next paycheck, that old girl handles all of her own accounts and has NOT given power of attorney to her business managers/accountants to pay stuff on her behalf. I’m sure she is abreast of her accounts activities. Hell, she can access her funds via the Internet. And if a discrepancy arises, I betcha she has a private funds manager/money market manager/etc. — most wealthy folks do — whom she can contact day or night to get to bottom of stuff.
