According to TMZ.com, the reason Paula Abdul left American Idol is because she wanted more than the $3 million a year she was already pulling down!
I still can’t believe they paid that heiffer $3 million to sit at a table and look stupid! No wonder RHOA’s Kandi Burrus has started a campaign blitz to throw her name into the ring as the new judge. I’m sure AI isn’t even thinking about Kandi, but her PR still sent out a press release as if AI has already come knocking on Kandi’s door!
If you read between the lines in the press release, it’s obvious that Kandi is dying to get that gig but AI isn’t answering her calls. Unfortunately for Kandi, AI already has their one token black judge.

You know what, I actually think kandi would be good for American Idol, she definitely has the experience.
Ryan got a 3 yr $45 mill deal. Why shun Paula when she was the only person I knew on the show when it came out. They will lose viewers if they don’t keep “train wreck, guess what’s in my cup” Paula.
Damn $3 Million for that job! Hey where can I send my resume? I think Janet Jackson would be a good fit.

I remember the first season when a contestant told Abdul that she wouldn’t have made the first cut as a contestant. Her comments were always the same and she was nutty as a fruitcake.

I think I remember that episode and Abdul responded by saying something like I may not be the best vocalist but I’m a multi-platinum selling artist.
Team Paula! AI execs wanted to get rid of her and used $$ as an excuse. They PAID Ryan but didnt even really want to negoaiate with Paula thats BS. She may have irked me from time to time as the seasons went on but she brought something different to the show. Kara did NOTHING for me and I will be tuning right on back out!
When women want to be business minded/oriented we are labeled greedy or a BISH but when men do it they were smart and looking out for their future in the words/letters of Shauny GTFOOH!!!!!

I haven’t watched AI in like 3 years but NO ONE likes the new chick. Also Ryan was paid $15 mil for his new contract with AI. How are they going to pay Ryan more than Paula? Say what you want about Paula but a lot of people believe that she and Simon makes that show not Ryan and sure as hell not Karla Kara whatever.
Also – Kandi was in a multi platinum selling group, she is a successful song writer, and won songwriter of the year over HUGE songwriters so I would say that she is more than qualified to take over.
I guess Sandra would prefer it if Sarah Palin filled the spot. She’s use to taking over positions she has no experience for and she’s currently unemployed.

As for Paula they do this every season. Has it been confirmed yet that she is actually out this time? I remember it was rumored Janet would be a judge (who is rumored to be working with Jimmy & Lewis again… I CAN’T WAIT!!!!!). I’ll believe it when I see it. I’ll watch either way. As long as they don’t get rid of Simon, I’m good.
kandi’s writing skills for OTHERS isnt a flop but her being a solo artist is. i’ve already handed my examples of producers/writers who flopped as solo artist. u make more money writing anywayz!

Ryan’s $45 million dollar contract had nothing to do with his E contract.
Hopefully Paula will land on her feet and American Idol will end this year. FOR GOOD!

sanaas is correct because I just read the article. Ryan’s 45 mil is for AI. They are talking about giving Simon 100 mil. Randy’s amount isn’t being discussed but they couldn’t give Paula 20 mil? Now I could see if everyone else was close in pay but she’s no where near close as they are. With the money they’re paying to keep the gitl everyone hates, they could’ve given that to Paula.

The pact, which is believed to be for three years, will give Seacrest a major pay raise and make him one of the highest-paid reality hosts on tele¬vision. He made slightly less than $5 million this season for his work on “Idol,” which breaks down to about $100,000 per episode.
Additionally, Seacrest is said to be expanding his relationship with 19 Entertainment, possibly to develop series with 19 principal and “Idol” creator Simon Fuller.
“Idol” is produced jointly by 19, Fremantle and Fox. All declined to comment on Seacrest’s new deal, as did his attorneys at Hansen Jacobson, but the agreement is expected to be announced Monday.
In addition to his hosting duties on Fox’s “Idol,” E! News and on the radio — where he has a daily show and hosts “American Top 40” — Seacrest has made an entree into producing with such unscripted series as “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” “Denise Richards: It’s Complicated” and ABC’s upcoming show starring Jamie Oliver.
Seacrest traveled to the U.K. last month and met with execs at 19 to discuss a new deal.
He is not the only “Idol” star to use the show’s offseason to hammer a new pact for the show. The “Idol” judges also are negotiating new deals.
Uber judge Simon Cowell has made statements that he might leave the singing competition when his contract is up at the end of next season. The British media has pegged his salary demands for staying on the show at more than $100 million a year.
The other judges — Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi — all have said they hope to close deals to return next season.
While the ratings for the reality juggernaut have slipped in the past couple of years, “Idol” remains the highest-rated series on television by a mile and is a windfall for its producers.
