According to AllHipHop.com, So So Def CEO Jermaine Dupri announced a deal with director Tyler Perry today (March 19) for the release of the soundtrack to Why Did I Get Married Too?
The first single from the soundtrack is titled “Nothing” and features Dupri’s ex-girlfriend, Janet Jackson.
The track was produced by Dupri and Bryan Michael Cox. “You haven’t heard Janet sound like this in a long time and I think the song is perfect for the movie,” Dupri said. “It’s a really good record.”
“Nothing” will hit the Internet via iTunes on March 30th, while Why Did I Get Married Too? is due in theaters April 2nd.

Her voice is beyond weak. After years of singing you would think it would be better.
jimmy jam and terry lewis. for the last freakin time, jermaine dupri can do nothing with or for janet’s voice. his production style does not fit her. i dont like the song. she sounds like michael, so i guess jd is right, we have never heard her sound like this before.
Well at least it’s not overly sonic-ed like some of the other stuff. I can understand the lyrics, let’s hope the rest of the new album will be in the line of this song, but still with some of the up tempo stuff as well.

Naw, I’m not feeling this Ms. Jackson. I love ya, Janet, but this isn’t hittin’ it for me.
I actually like it. It sounds like classic Janet.She has never had the best vocals. I think that everyone is so used to all this autotuned music or music that you just pay attention to the beat and not the voice. I think that she will be ok. That is just my opinion tho.

I did not lisent to the song, but I will agree that she does interpet songs well. “Come Back To Me, What Have You Done For Me Lately”, “Control”. Black Cat”. Love Will Never Do”. Can you tell I am older? I just want real meaningful music to come back. I know we have Sade and India but I just want the Janet of yesteryear. Nice relationship songs. I have and am still waiting for Bey to have/make a song with feeling besides “If I were A Boy”. She is a grown married women and I want grown up lyrics from her. I know Toni Braxton, Celine and Whitney have all had “grown up songs w/out gyrating on stage. Anita Baker also comes to mind. Sade is going to be on Dave Letterman. after the commercial break.
